Tonight i used my new L'oreal kids conditioner for the first time (well , first for a few years :-p) [after wanting it for awhile (remembering the great scent) but then finding out it was no longer available in canada ,and then my asked my dad to pick it up for me when he was in the states , and he did] ANYWAYS , lol , i decided to use a bit on that portion of my hair , and all around up there too , and now that its practically dry it feels great, Do most of you use conditioner there always or .. not? lol Also .. I got dad to get me Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Shampoo.Someone on LHL told me about it , recomended it (kinda) I couldn't find a list of the ingredients online , and they don't have it here yet (obviously , or i would've just got it here :p) and since the person was saying its natural and has cocoa and .. etc , then i didn't really think twice about there being Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it. I've been not using things with that for awhile now and i'd like your opinions on it .. If i continue to condition up there , and maybe use some jojoba , would that make up for it? I don't want to just not use it after i got him to get it for me .. its the 2nd gentlest out of the 4 isn't it? __________________ 1bMii.....18/33.5/hips...... photo journal....... | | | March 18th, 2004, 03:44 PM | #2 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Hamburg, Germany Age: 39 Posts: 3,675 Length: Pixie/32.5"/37" Type: 1c/F/i | | Re: Conditioner above ears? also , s lauryl s.. | | Quote: | Originally Posted by AngelicBrunette what do yas think of using conditioner above the ears? | I do that all the time. I do this with my conditioner that I rinse out and with my leave in. This process keeps the hair shiny and supple without adding the greasies, plus it helps keep my sproinglies and clown hairs down. As for S. Lauryl S., it is my sworn enemy. Turns my hair to unmanageable, tangly, velcro straw. And my hair is generally very genial! I had to give up Lush shampoos for this very reason. I understand it works for some people, but I am definitely *not* one of 'em. The shampoo girls and I hope that helps! | | | March 19th, 2004, 03:48 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Pacific Northwest Posts: 2,188 Type: 1a/1b/F/ii | | Re: Conditioner above ears? also , s lauryl s.. | | Above the neck is my philosophy! I do. I usually pour some conditioner in a cup, add water, shake, and pour over my head, then work the conditioner through my hair, and add a bit more to the ends. __________________ _______________________________________ Generic Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo Generic Sebastian Potion 9 or BWC Leave-In | | | March 19th, 2004, 06:31 AM | #9 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Canada Posts: 581 | | Re: Conditioner above ears? also , s lauryl s.. | | thanks everyone! and thats what i did too , did a whoooole bunch on about ears and down , and then what was left over on my hands (not much) just smoothed over the top and my hair feels perfect right now (not tangly or anything) so S lauryl S may work for me *shrug* i'll just have to wait and see , i just hope it doesn't dry it out more than my other shampoo or anything __________________ 1bMii.....18/33.5/hips...... photo journal....... | | | March 19th, 2004, 10:56 AM | #10 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: The Beautiful Earth Posts: 1,247 Length: ?/BSL/Knee Type: 3a/3b/F/M/iii | | Re: Conditioner above ears? also , s lauryl s.. | | I apply conditioner both above ears and below ears. I just use more conditioner on the length. I feel that my hair benefits from this. __________________ Love, RedButterfly Hair Description: Color - Mahogany Brown Type - Curly 3a - 3b / F - M / iii Current Length - BSL First Goal - Waist Second Goal - Classic Third Goal - Knee | | | March 19th, 2004, 11:01 AM | #11 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Denmark Posts: 2,463 Length: 0,0/39,4/More! Since CO conditioners are light and almost like a shampoo (at least in LHC land), I feel like this is the best way to control some of my wispies while still getting moisture to the scalp and canopy. But if I don't put anything on it (i.e. just wash with my "washing" conditioner) then the top of my head looks awful compared to the lengths. Lately I've been applying my conditioner to length and ends, leaving for a few minutes, and then just before washing out I move a bit onto my roots, combing it through, then immediately rinsing out. I'm finding this seems to be a good combination for my fine hair.
