Type: 1b/C/iii | I bought some fake hair- this little “fountain” of hair on a stick in pink, purple and blonde Here I stuck it in my loose hair in a hair slide It looks pretty funny and a bit childish, but I think it’s a great way to spice up this style (Thank you for the hair slide, JennaPea! I love it!) and the length fit pretty good I also got some thick, circa 45 cm/ 18 inches long braids in blonde (two of them) pink, blue and black. I was going to use them to wrap around buns or something. I think it was Madeleine (or someone else with gorgeous red hair) who posted some great pics of that My idea was to colour two of them- a blonde one and the pink one to get them closer to my natural hair colour, so I bought some Garnier Lumina in the copper colour (64) which is redder than my natural hair colour. I tried to colour them but it seems to have no effect at all, so I didn’t want to use the conditioner that comes with the package since it’s most likely that it has no effect either So my question is… Is that conditioner any good? Can I use it on my un-treated hair? My own guess is, that it’s a Fructis conditioner since they advertise for it in the manual Any thoughts? | | | March 11th, 2004, 04:46 PM | #2 | | Moderator Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Central Tejas Age: 49 Posts: 12,727 Type: 2b/2c/F/i | | Re: A photo and a question | | I think it is a pretty updo, Igor! I can't really tell the colors, but I like the "fountain" of hair coming out the top! | | | March 11th, 2004, 05:12 PM | #3 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: The South ;-) Age: 58 Posts: 1,577 | | Re: A photo and a question | | Igor, I think that is so cute, and especially on you I think it's youthful and fun...but you are young enough to pull the look off... lucky girl | | | March 11th, 2004, 05:29 PM | #4 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Pennsylvania Age: 27 Posts: 863 Length: 13/26/43 Type: 2b/2c/M/ii/iii | | Re: A photo and a question | | Whoa! Sparkly! I think that looks cool. Makes me think of techno, for some odd reason. | | | March 11th, 2004, 05:34 PM | #5 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: BFE Posts: 7,970 Length: 18"?/36"/40" Type: 1c/2a/M/ii | | Re: A photo and a question | | I wonder if they didn't take the color because they are synthetic hair and not real hair? I don't know much about hair coloring but that would be my guess. Why not leave them as they are and have fun with the faux colors? I think it looks cute and funky. | | | March 12th, 2004, 12:25 AM | #6 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Hamburg, Germany Age: 39 Posts: 3,675 Length: Pixie/32.5"/37" Type: 1c/F/i | | Re: A photo and a question | | Hi Igor, that looks cute! You were right, it's me who posted pics of a cameo bun with a fake braid. It has become one of my favourite styles for special occasions. The reason you cound't dye those braids is because it's syntehtic hair - the moderately priced, brightly coloured ones always are. The only way to get synthetic hair that's close to your natural colour is by combining strands of different standard colours. The result is then made up by different high- and lowlights. It can be very convincing, even up close. I had my colour mixed at a place that usually does semi-permanent extensions with monofibre hair, they're quite skilled at matching someone's natural shade. I've never used semi-permanent or permanent dye, but I've read a couple of times here that the conditioners that come with dyes are supposed to be excellent. For your own hair that is, the fake braids won't benefit from it. __________________ Cheers, Madeleine, G.F.T.G. *g* Fontaine de Vaucluse, France, October 2004 | | | March 12th, 2004, 04:50 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: San Antonio, Texas Age: 52 Posts: 3,082 Length: 30/42/? But the colors sound fine to use and have fun with! As for the conditioner, I think it would be fine to use in your hair. It would normally be used in your hair after a color treatment anyways. Enjoy the new hair and let us know what cool styles you've come up with. __________________ Sometimes, I do like to push buttons. Not really childish but fun. Looking forward to seeing more creative "do"s from you with these. Take care __________________ Type: 2aFii | | | March 12th, 2004, 05:31 PM | #9 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Apr 2003 Posts: 497 | | Re: A photo and a question | | It's adorable, Igor!
