Re: Easy Hairstick Bun

I am a big believer in "practice makes perfect."

I oiled my length this afternoon, which is the only way that I can do some hairstyles.

Since my hair isn't quite BSL, I decided to secure my hair with a ponytail elastic as the first step. Then, I did not twist the base to secure the bun, I just followed the rest of the steps. Not twisting the base, saved me valuable length that I needed for wrapping later on.

I hope this helps someone.

This is a very secure, attractive, easy hairstyle, once you get the knack of it.

Re: Easy Hairstick Bun

Wow, this is the first hair style that actually seems to stay put with a hairstick in my rather thick and heavy hair. I think I will try this one more often. Thanks so much for posting.

Re: Easy Hairstick Bun

The following two pics illustrate my attempts at the "easy hairstick bun." Once I determined I'd been trying to wind the hair in the wrong direction, I was able to wrap the hair around the "loop" rather easily.

The first pic shows a bigger, looser version held with a fakkare, but the clip was too small and wouldn't hold it alone. The second pic shows a far more tightly executed loopy bun and it's held with a real ficcare, and very well, at that! This is a great style and I'm so happy to have it to add to my growing repertoire!

Thank you so much, Laurahborealis, for sharing this with us. This is easy, fast and looks great - what more can you ask of a hairstyle?!

Re: Easy Hairstick Bun

Yay! A bun that is easy, quick and secure! My hair is updo-phobic, so I'm thrilled with this. Thanks so much! Maybe I'll take a pic..

Edit - it is done:

Note that it was my first time ever doing this style, so it's a bit messy.

Re: Easy Hairstick Bun

I keep trying but I can NOT get an infinity bun to work for my hair. It must be too slick.
