I find that cones cause more build-up for me. When I wash my hair after a heavy oiling, even if the hair is still greasy afterwards, it still seems less weighed down than if I washed/conditioned with cones. I’d be interested in hearing everyone’s opinions on this. Thanks in advance for any replies. nankipoo | | | May 2nd, 2007, 08:44 AM | #2 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Earth, the green part not the blue Posts: 448 Length: 2"/31.5"/37" Type: 1c/2a/F/ii | | Re: What causes more build-up on your hair – oil or cones? | | 'Cones for me. I can't STAND cone buildup (I can REALLY feel it and it's DRYING!) but oil buildup doesn't bother me. __________________ | | | May 2nd, 2007, 09:02 AM | #4 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Ontari-ari-ari-O Age: 44 Posts: 1,374 Type: 2a/M/ii/iii | | Re: What causes more build-up on your hair – oil or cones? | | Cones for me as well. Oil comes off when I CO, but cones don't. __________________ "... all Unscissor'd shall this hair of mine remain." -William Shakespeare | | | May 2nd, 2007, 09:04 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: England Age: 22 Posts: 133 Length: 0.5cm/23.5"/?? Oils seem to wash out of my hair very quickly while cones (once applied) stay on and on and on and on.. | | | May 2nd, 2007, 09:44 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ummm, Ohio! Now, too much oil on my ends... crunch crunch. Yuck. Oils do wash out for me pretty easily, though. So I guess I really don't have a problem with either of them. | | | May 2nd, 2007, 09:49 AM | #8 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Southern Calif. My dry and porous hair absorbs most oil; cones just sit there. | | | May 2nd, 2007, 09:56 AM | #9 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Germany,Düsseldorf Age: 21 Posts: 52 Length: 20/22/ Type: 1c/2a/F/ii | | Re: What causes more build-up on your hair – oil or cones? | | i never heard or experienced that oils cause build-up. cones definitely do. cones are not good for my fine hair. one wash with them, and my hair seems greasier, thinner, straighter... | | | May 2nd, 2007, 10:02 AM | #10 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: The heart of Dixie Posts: 334 Length: 24/28/class Type: 2b/M/i/ii | | Re: What causes more build-up on your hair – oil or cones? | | My hair likes both cones and oils, so it's always a juggling act as to what is needed on any given day. That's why I switch back and forth between cones and non-cones, and oil is my everyday backup. | | | May 2nd, 2007, 10:18 AM | #11 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Londonish Age: 36 Posts: 101 Length: 20.5/21.5/30? Oils, no problem with build up: they wash right out. __________________ Lucy | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
