If you look at the website, the bamboo one (pearlised) looks horribly stripey and not at all like bamboo. If you look at the Innovation clips (classical), the bamboo one there doesn't look like that at all, it looks more like a piece of wood. There are very faint stripes, but they don't look like the Maximas one. And the Millenium in bamboo comes somewhere in between the others in terms of stripeyness. Has anyone seen a Maximas in bamboo? How do they look? Is it just bad photography and all three clips are actually the same colour - that of the Innovation? __________________ | | | April 19th, 2007, 10:09 AM | #2 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: The heart of Dixie Posts: 334 Length: 24/28/class Type: 2b/M/i/ii | | Re: Another Ficcare colour question | | Akka, I can't answer this, as I've only gotten a gold toned one. Be that as it may, whatEVER you put in that beautiful hair can't help but look fab-u-lous. | | | April 20th, 2007, 05:38 AM | #3 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: oxford uk Posts: 514 Length: 5cm/48/60+ Type: 2a/2b/M/C/iii | | Re: Another Ficcare colour question | | Thank you Labs*R*Us, that's very kind of you. __________________ | | | April 20th, 2007, 06:15 AM | #4 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Sipping Darjeeling with Jesus and LisaJaney Age: 47 Posts: 3,307 Length: 24/45/?? I have a classical clip in bamboo, and the first thing that struck me about it when I received it was that it doesn't really look like bamboo at all. The pic of the Maximas is pretty accurate. You're right, it is a stripey clip, but if you get "bamboo" out of your head it's actually pretty cool. HTH! __________________ | | | April 20th, 2007, 06:22 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Snoozing in a Class Age: 24 Posts: 800 Length: 18/39.25/40 Type: 3a/F/ii/iii | | Re: Another Ficcare colour question | | I don't know about the actual color of the clip, but I know that Ficcare has a really good return policy and if the color isn't right on it they will accept returns up to 30 days if the product is unused. It says so on their website. Here is a quote from the customer service part of their website. Quote: | You can return any item if you are not completely satisfied, as long as you return within 30 days of receipt of merchandise, unused and not damaged. Although we have tried to accurately display and represent the colors and sizes of our products, the actual colors you see will depend on your monitor, and may not be completely accurate, and the sizes will depend on your final hair style, texture, volume, and length. | ETA: Quote from Ficcare website. __________________ May, Takin by me. I have a bamboo beak; I traded for it here on TLHC. I think it's a bit old because it is a medium size but is smaller than the mediums Ficcare is putting out today. I've checked the website and Cinnamon's posting of the paper catalog. Also, I have a copy of the paper catalog. My bamboo beak is not as vibrant in color as what can be seen online or on paper; it's more pale. It is definitely stripy. I had never seen the pearlized bamboo max. The color there looks more vibrant, but still stripy. If you have any questions, you might consider calling Ficcare's toll free telephone # and asking some questions....especially whether or not you have the option of returning the piece if you're not happy with the color. The woman I've asked questions to always tries to be helpful and is very nice. ETA: I'm sorry if I gave the impression that you should expect Ficcare to allow you to return a piece because you are not pleased with it's color; what I meat to say was that it's worth asking if they offfer that option. Good luck with this and let us know what you decide. I just called Ficcare for a personal question, and I also asked if I wasn't satisfied with the color if it could be returned. They said yes, and you need to specifiy if/what you wanted to trade it for (and $6 for shipping), or refund. | | | April 20th, 2007, 07:40 AM | #10 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: oxford uk Posts: 514 Length: 5cm/48/60+ Type: 2a/2b/M/C/iii | | Re: Another Ficcare colour question | | OK, thanks. I wouldn't want to return one because of the cost from the UK. I'll think of it as a stripy clip. I don't know how they can tell about returned clips either, my first jeans max had a very small chip on the varnish over the metal border, it wasn't really visible so it didn't bother me. Having seen what people said here about peeling clips subsequently, probably I should have sent it back, but there's no way they'd know it had arrived like that and I'd not done it myself. Thank you Tresses, your hair looks great too, particularly the plait __________________ | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
