All I can say is... this is going to be controversial! | | | October 2nd, 2003, 04:41 PM | #2 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Hamburg, Germany Age: 39 Posts: 3,675 Length: Pixie/32.5"/37" Type: 1c/F/i | Yep, that's controversial stuff indeed. Thanks for posting! With some, even most of the points I'd agree, but other "facts" I just know better from personal experience. And even a single counter evidence is enough to disprove their generalisations __________________ Cheers, Madeleine, G.F.T.G. *g* Fontaine de Vaucluse, France, October 2004 | | | October 2nd, 2003, 05:08 PM | #3 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: massachusetts Age: 59 Posts: 2,588 Length: 20/20/20 Type: 2a/F/i | interesting and my hair has developed curls at my temples - (new growth) | | | October 2nd, 2003, 05:19 PM | #4 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Sep 2003 Location: Niagara Falls, Canada Age: 50 Posts: 420 Length: 1/28.5/35 Type: 1b/M/ii | Quote: | interesting and my hair has developed curls at my temples | From eating bread crusts? e: I still think a vinegar rinse will benefit the hair of people who use a lot of conditioner and styling products (heresy, I know but I'm still in the awkward stage). | | | October 2nd, 2003, 05:20 PM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Louisiana Age: 39 Posts: 540 Length: ?/36"/40" Type: 1c/2a/M/iii | had to laugh at some of those. most of the ones that they say aren't true are true for me. and i can say wearing a hat does lead to baldness (or at least hair thinning) my hubby wears a hard hat and a baseball hat everyday and let me tell you it has gotten pretty thin up there. (don't tell him i said that) very controversal things they have on there. | | | October 2nd, 2003, 05:38 PM | #6 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Hill Country, Central TX Age: 54 Posts: 4,017 Length: 39"/55"/??? Type: 3a/3b/F/M/ii | wow I heard most of these from my grandmother. She told me to eat the breadcrusts so my hair would get curlier, guess who mangled her peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with a butter knife to get the crusts OFF? She always rinsed my hair with cold vinegar water, she said it would make it shinier. (Well, she did have well water.) She told me never to pluck a gray hair because then seven more would come to its funeral. She farmed her 40 acres using the almanac, I guess she would have cut my hair following moon signs if I asked her. She was from southern Mississippi... | | | October 2nd, 2003, 06:29 PM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,808 | I love that site. I always check things people send me through email, and then send the snopes link back and admonish them to always check snopes before forwarding crap, I mean stuff. It saves so much "face" in the long run. [/u] | | | October 2nd, 2003, 06:45 PM | #8 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Location: Elk River, MN Age: 47 Posts: 1,330 Length: 22.25/35/?? Women whose hair grows into a peak on their foreheads are said to have a "widow's peak," which portends badly for their husbands (because the peak signifies that widowhood will be their fate). Okay so I'm only 24, but I'd like to think genetics is the reason I'm single, rather than my infatuation w/ my career That was a fun read... __________________ Time to take a stand: 1b/2b-cCii 12.5/26.75/28 -- let's see if I can last 4 more months 'cuz I'm getting antsy here! | | | October 2nd, 2003, 09:54 PM | #11 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,935 | I agree with the cold water thing, I don't put myself through that anymore unless I'm hot and I must be a red head underneath all this dark hair, hubby calls me his little red pepper, granny always said I just had an Irish temper. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
