Re: grant's hair journal

I dyed my hair on friday It was a demi-permenant (Natural Instincts) so it will come out in like a month or so. I was going to buy the black color, but then I was like nevermind, the black color doesnt look that great. So I bought dark brown. It turned out black! A very nice black. However, after a cwc, and a co, it is the dark brown color like the box. Its a nice color! I like it. My ends look MUCH thicker. They were white b4 I used natural instincts, but now the color all matches, so it makes the ends look thicker. I'm pretty happy. It didnt seem to damage my hair. Just dried it out and tangled it. I need to clarify and deep condition however, then I think it will be back to normal. But i dont want to clarify cuz It will most likely strip the hair color. I'll see how this color holds up. I will probably wait until August-September b4 I color it again. The ends are dry, but thats ok. Im tired now, bye.

Re: grant's hair journal

Bad, Bad me..

ok so my hair was REALLY bugging me. Every day I was having a bad-hair day. I was sick of it. The layers were just sticking out and the bleach part felt horrible. Sunday evening I cut 2-3 inches off my hair. I did it myself. It didnt really do that much. Sooo today I went into the hairdresser and cut my hair to one length NO MORE LAYERS! I barely have any damage left in my hair (about 2") My hair is now at chin length. Bad, bad me. I probably should have waited out for the layers to grow out, but I couldnt wait. My hair is now pretty straight, except on the right side there is a flip at the ends cuz of the damage. I really am not interested in measuring my hair. I am obviously so far away from my goal. My hair looks healthy, but I think it is a little to thick for this length. Kind of sticks out. I like the way my hair lays now. It actually looks pretty normal. NO WAY am i keeping it this short however. I am of course still on my goal for classic length. My next goal is shoulder. Seems far way, but chin to shoulder never really takes much time. I will probably post in this journal more often now. I am a lot happier now. I will post more later. bye!

Re: grant's hair journal

Well.. not much is new. Hair- its growing of course. Quite Fast! Im also washing daily. Its working very well. Im conditioning my hair really well. I am so happy to get rid of my layers. I have not had a bad hair day since I got rid of them, versus when i had my layers, every day was a bad hair day. Ive got quite a few compliments about the cut- but I think thats usual for a new cut. Personally, I THINK IT LOOKS AWFUL! but i really dont care. Im happy that I now have no layers, and healthy hair.

Today I did that thing letting my hair dry without combing, and I barely fingercomed it and without any products in it, I just rinsed it to be exact. It dried and it appears to be 1c. With the combing and such, my hair is 1b. Not that much of a difference.

Another good thing about getting rid of the layers is that my hair feels a lot thicker. Below my chin, my hair was so fried and thin. I measured my ponytail circumference right before I cut my hair, and it had gone down from 5" to 4.5-4.75". Its not a lot of difference, but it FELT a lot different. Oh well im going to bed. goodnight

Re: grant's hair journal

yep, i did it again

I dyed my hair. Yes, its permenant. long story. Im bored so I'll write it out. Ok so last friday, I decided that I was bored w/ my color, and that I was willing to sacrifice some of the condition to get it to a color that I prefered. I went to the store and went through the different colors, and decided on a medium ash blonde. So I dyed my hair and it felt fine after dying, just as healthy, but the color was the same. EXCEPT for an orange stripe at the top of my head I decided that I would leave my hair alone for the weekend. Monday I was out, and decided that I would first dye my hair a very light blonde, and dye it champagne ash blonde on top. This had worked for me in the past. So, I did it, and the color went about a light golden brown. That was one week ago today. My hair is still in good condition. I found that the dye dried out my hair more than anything, and with the help of conditioner it can be back to normal within no time. Now I am not leaving my hair this light brown color. I want my ash blonde color! Ive had an appointment at a proper salon for a week now, my appointment is 2morro. Hopefully they will some how be able to lighten this color, I sure cant! After this dye, its conditioning, conditioning, conditioning. Then I'll leave it alone till my roots are noticible, and then Ill dye it myself.

Haha and that measuring thing where I was saying my hair was growing an inch a month has to be fake. It has to be. My hair is growing at its average speed, and i barely have any roots. I should have like 1/4" roots if my hair was growing 1" a month. So I think that I was measuring wrong the whole time. oh well.

Re: grant's hair journal

I havent written in a while. OK so my last post was right before I colored my hair again. Well I went to the hair dresser and she told me the color right then was dark copper blonde. She said that it would be really hard getting my hair to an ash tone and would ruin my hair so she sed that if she put this "toning bleach" in my hair that my hair would still be fairly healthy and it would be a nice color. So she bleached it, then put in brown lowlights in some places. I love it! I have to admit it felt very dry after the coloring, but its back in normal condition now. It's very soft. I've been doing s/c with Herbal Essences lately. Today I clarified with Pantene Clarifying and conditioned with Suave Strawberry. I'm happy because it seems that my hair can handle being dyed. Im waiting until October to dye it again. I think then I will dye it dark brown. Tonight I'm going to put some conditioner in my hair, and then sleep on it, and wash it out 2morro. That always makes my hair soft, and I havent done that in a while. I'm going to try updating this more often.

Re: grant's hair journal

Hello. Nothing much to report hair wise. I washed last night. First I pre-conditioned with suave strawberry (I usually dont pre condition) then I shampooed with Loreal Kids (also strawberry ) and then did a final conditioning with Herbal Essences. It was a bit too much. I think it was over- conditioned to start with. THen I decided to use the Infusium 23 leave in. Now I see why I hadnt used that in quite a while . Yep, crunchy ends and tangles. WHY can't my hair handle leave-ins?? The only one that has worked for me so far is pantene, every other one that I have used leaves my hair so crunchy and tangly. I tried V05 free me freesia, I think I like it. Oh, and I have stopped combing my hair wet. I realized it was pulling the volume out of my hair, so as it dried some parts would stick out and some would lie flat . I'm going to wash 2night. One more thing... I'm having this stupid battle in my head if I want to stay blonde or dye my hair dark brown/black in october. I know I'm going to stay blonde until at least october. I know that in the future I see myself with long black hair, but right now I have hair between my chin and shoulder that is blonde. I'm pretty sure Im going to just dye it dark brown, but every couple of days I wonder if I should just keep my hair blonde...

Re: grant's hair journal

My hair is STILL crunchy at the ends from the infusium. I need to clarify 2night and do a good conditioning. Last nite I washed w/ down under naturals shampoo, and conditioned with Free Me Freesia. It turned out ok, except for the crunchy ends. oh, and i've pretty much decided I will just dye my hair black in october. I might dye it b4 then if my roots get really bad - they are noticable now, but I think its a neat look since I have just a bit of roots, but almost 2 inch roots I think looks gross. I forgot to write this the first time I wrote about my new color- the brown lowlights faded to copper after 2 weeks. My hair is naturally quite ashy, so a copper tone looks strange beside them, IMO. Thats it. I'm going to go outside for a while then i'll wash my hair later.

Re: grant's hair journal

ok so after i wrote my last journal entry I spray herbal essences leave-in in my hair and then my hair was tangled and crunchy yet again! I've decided to just stick with the one leave-in that works for me- pantene. So yesterday I found a combination that works really well for my hair. It was so soft. Pantene Clarifying Shampoo, Mega Moisture, Pantene leave-in. But I dont want to clarify a lot so I wont be using this method all that often.

Just washed with herbal essences s/c. hair is up in a towel turban thing.

ETA: I 4got to say that yesterday I was out w/ one of my friends and felt the ends of my hair touch the bottom of my neck! I went into the mirror later and sure enough its neck length. I'm getting closer to shoulder! Chin to Shoulder is so easy becuz thats the length that my hair pulls itself down and it looks as long as it really is. My hair has a tendancy to bounce up when its short, and look a lot shorter than it really is. Weird, huh?

Re: grant's hair journal

Just washed with herbal essences s/c. My hair is wet but feels very soft. Yesterday I over-conditioned my hair . 2day I was looking through my hair stuff and I found sum turquoise semi-permenant dye. Its a vegetable dye, so it doesnt damage. I'm going to do a couple of LARGE streaks in my hair with that 2morro. It usually lasts a couple of weeks. Im sure it will look interesting

Re: grant's hair journal

Yesterday washed with herbal essences s/c. I didn't end up doing the turquoise in my hair. I decided I wanted to use dark blue. Will be getting sum of that soon. Today I didnt even use shampoo I did a c/o. Washed with Suave Strawberry Conditioner, Conditioned with Pantene Deep Treatment. I think I'm going to try c/o for a while. I have to get up and spray my hair with pantene leave-in sometime soon. I feel very tired, I went on a VERY long walk today. Thats it for now.

Re: grant's hair journal

So after writing the last post, I did dye my hair blue. Its faded a bit, but its still blue. I left a lot of the back blonde, I think it looks neat that way.

My hair can be so annoying! Lol. Most of my hair is super fine. The top layers are fine, but not nearly as fine as the underneath layers. The ends get buildup so quickly, and the scalp gets oily quickly. C/o doesnt really work for me. If I use too much conditioner, only a part of my hair is happy, however the scalp feels oily, and the ends feel coated. I'm doing cwc right now. I started it up again yesterday. I'm trying to determine why I am getting so much buildup. I think that it is from the leave-in. I'm going to take sum time off it for a while. I keep on going on and off of leave-ins. Anyways CWC'ing 2morro. Oh ya, and my hair is getting SO close to shoulder length. And I found a Sally's Near Me!!!! ok well it isnt exactly close to me. Its actually quite a drive, but who cares

Re: grant's hair journal

I have written in this for quite a while. I have not been very nice to my hair The blue hair dye was a big mistake. It said temporary but it was not. My hair felt so coated and dry it kept on getting worse and worse it felt like hay. I decided to dye over it blonde. THE BLUE WAS STILL THERE! Then I thought to myself, does blonde really suit me? Do I really like this? I cant do roots, so I always end up doing the whole head. This might lead to damage. So I decided I was going to dye it back brown, and let it grow out naturally. I waited about 4 days, then I dyed it medium golden brown. Not exactly my natural color, but it was a nice change. I was so happy after I dyed it because my hair was so shiny and soft. It seemed that my hair is still pretty healthy. I decided that I was going to stop dying my hair and let the dye grow out. I really think this is going to work, since I am truly happy, and I have no thoughts of dying it anymore. But we will see, who knows what will happen next.

I washed with finesse moist shampoo, and conditioned with Pantene's new color conditioner. My hair is up in a towel turban, but after I finished washing it it felt very soft.

Re: grant's hair journal

I decided to start c/o up again. used free me freesia conditioner (to wash) and sumthing Queen Helenes to condition (works well, smells like crap). This works well. My hair is soft and wavier than usual. The water here is so hard its really not good for my hair. My hair was doing so much better when I was on vacation cuz the water was not at all hard.

I went walking with a couple of friends and we ended up at the store becuz one of my friends wanted to dye streaks of blonde in her hair and then dye them blue and red. She picked one out, but I hadnt had great results with that brand, so I picked out another one for her. I hate going in the hairdye section! I'm trying to grow out the dye, and going to that section makes me think about dying my hair. Must stay away from there! lol.
