Anyone out there own a microscope with photo capability?

.
I was just thinking of something,
and it may make someone a few bucks.

Remember this site?
http://www.pg.com/science/haircare/hair_twh_toc.htm

They featured super-close microscopic images
of human hair under various conditons, treatments, etc.

Well, how many of you wish you could have such a photograph
of your own hair?

Now while common sense may tell you that your hair
is in bad condition,
(turns green, sticks out, attracts ants, you get the jist)
I'm sure we would all like to see the extent of our
hair's condition under the 'scope, yes?

The budget doesn't exactly have room for such a device
right now, but if anyone has access to such a strong
scope with imagery options on disc, what a few bucks
you could bring in!

A person could send in, say, six hairs from various parts of
their head (allowing for variations in thickness, location, etc.)
and the hairs could be laid side by side in the image.

A few bucks and a week or two later, poof,
your image arrives in the mail or via the internet.

Hmmmmm?

LOL

KarenMarie . . . it seems you are trying to figure out ways to earn an extra buck or thousand!

<giggling>

The funny thing is, I was just wondering what my hair looks like under a microscope! In 7th or 8th grade we put a single strand under a smaller powered microscope. It was reallllllllllllllllllly cool!!! I remember thinking my hair looked like little bars of gold! (at least that's how I LIKE to remember it) . I ALSO remember that I thought there were spiders crawling under the lens because my eye lashes were getting in the way! hahahahahaahahaha

Anyway, the thing I was CURRENTLY wondering about was what is the difference in the "width" of my hair since my hair is wavy, it seems to get
"thicker and thinner" down the length as the hair "waves". Sometimes, to my naked eye, it looks like it is about to break, then I turn it a little, and the "almost breaking" moves to a different part of the length. Is that confusing??!

I just love reading your posts!!!!!

I do have the equipment available.

I have a nice scope at work. We also have a "flex" cam with on eyepiece adapter. It can be attached to a "Snappy" to capture video stills. Better yet, it can be attached to a VCR to make a video tape.

I don't think people should get hung up on how their hair looks at the microscopic level. Just be glad if you think your hair looks good at the macroscopic level

I've been curious too!

I've been thinking about this myself. Not about the money-making aspect of your post, KM, but I have been wondering what my hair looks like under a microscope. My ends are so dry, I've wondered if the cuticles are sticking up all over the place like they are in those pictures!

I'd pay a few bucks to receive microscopic images of my hair... although they'd probably scare the **** out of me.

My hair looks okay... but it FEELS different at the ends. It makes me curious as to what it must look like on the microscopic level.
