Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

I was just on youtube watching videos and I started watching a bunch of evanescence videos. I remembered how much I always loved Amy's hair. I personally think it has to be real, because its always long like that (not short one day like some celebs, lol) and it just seems real to me.. thoughts? :p Anyways , even if it is extensions, it looks great :p

I recently cut back to about waist-ish, and now I want to go back to hips after watching this, haha

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

Hmm... I'm not a fan of the music but I think she's gorgeous - great hair, too. I'm also tempted to think that it's her own hair (at least in "hair down" pictures - some updos might involve extras).

My sister told me I looked like her this weekend. Errr, no. The only common denominator is the long black hair. What prompted her observation is that most of the Amy Lee pictures we see show updos like this this. My recent bun experiments look like a frizzy version of that at the end of the day (okay, after about 1 hour)...

After a Google Image search, I'm tempted to steal more hairstyling ideas from her, this time intentionally.

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

teela19780 - I know eh? It's gorgeous! (as is she!)

ringuhair- I agree , she is gorgeous (and I agree about the hair too, obviously :p) I love the music too, so its great all around imo :p
I would be very flattered if anyone said I looked like her, lol, unfortunately I don't :p
That looks good on her, If I had any idea how to do it, I'd try, but I wouldn't know where to start haha- (plus it would probably look dumb on me :p) I was also thinking that after I was watching all the vids again , lol. There is one style that she had in a behind the scenes video I saw (it was early in the morning rehearsal thing) where it looked like she quickly threw it in a knot type thing, I can't do it though :p I'm gonna try to track down a picture to see if anyone here knows how! (I meant to do it months ago, but i forgot til now) lol

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

Amy Lee is awesome! And I love Evanescence!

This spring a friend had a birthday party, and we had to come as pop stars... well I came as Amy Lee [I don't do pop much ]. I copied her dress from 'Going Under' - the red sort of goth thing she's got on... and it was kareoke! I'm not a singer like she is, but it was great fun belting out a few of their tunes! My friends looked like this LOL but we all had a great time!

Oh - for the hair I wore a black wig, but people kept asking if it was my own hair...! I love that color hair but wouldn't dare dye mine - natural or otherwise unless it was really really really temporary.

So glad someone mentioned her! I'd love to walk into one of their videos...such cool style/hair/makeup/scenery.

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

I think what I adore most about her hair is the color. I'd LOVE to be able to go that dark! However, I'd have to do my eyelashes and eyebrows too. But I guess it's a good thing I don't have that natural hair color. Then I'd have to worry about lots and lots of dark hair on my arms, legs, face, lips, etc. I guess it's all relative, right?

She is gorgeous and I'd love to know some of her "secrets" (besides having tons of money to spend on having your own personal hairstylist)!

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

Well I'm not much of an EV fan but her hair is pretty...anyone here like Lacuna Coil? I'm jealous of the singer's hair..especially in the video for their cover of "Enjoy the Silence"...here's a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YaTN...+the+s ilence

Any tips on getting hair to wave like that? I'm new here and don't know very much about styling yet seeing as all my life I've been a pixie.

Love the music, love the hair (and the updo) and love that outfit. I wish I could pull that look off.

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

Blah...Amy Lee...beautiful voice, but I can't say I like her jet black straight hair. I'm overall more of a Lacey Mosley fan since she can scream and is a lot more optimistic than Amy (though I do own her CDs)! And Lacey has the coolest story! I dunno how long her hair really is...it could be extentions but in "I'm so Sick" she has hip or waist length hair and it's so cute and wavy!

Oooo I love Lacuna Coil!

I've been told I look like Amy Lee before. I don't see it. I think at some point, all female longhaired musicians get told that they look like either Alanis Morisette, Amy Lee, or Janis Joplin.

I've been told all three. I look like none of them haha!

You and me, both! I was watching her latest the other morning and thinking how gorgeous she is. I was seriously coveting that wolf!

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

I really like her hair too. I love the "dark irish" look. I think it is hers, shes had is consistently long since I started seeing her. Plus, she's not a pop star so she's under slightly less pressure to get highlights and extensions. I've been getting an urge to go super dark, and hair like hers makes me want to even more.

Hey, I'm not the only one! I haven't seen her latest and I *need* to get their new CD. I believe that will happen this weekend, lol.

Re: Amy Lee (of Evanescence)

I saw some of the EV videos and I've got to say that I am not sure if it's all real. Some of them showed her with much thinner hair than others. The live one of "Bring Me To Life," it's thicker than, say, the MTV clip.

I liked the hair, though, whatever it was.
