| Flat Crown AND crispy ends | | Hey all, I'm a new user... I love this forum, I no longer feel so alone having this obsession. Someone asked a while ago how to deal with second-day hair that "snaps" when you comb it. Not only do I have this problem on a consistent basis (and I fear I am doing great damage to my BSL hair) but I also have messy ends at the same time. My hair is abundant, fine and wavy, and I like that texture, but the ends ruin it. Actually I had waist length hair awhile ago but it looked straggly, so got a trim a few months ago out of resignation. The ends either frizz, curl in a strange way, or at best, end up greasy and stringy, forming little "coils" or bunches that go nowhere. I also occasionally have flatness at the crown of my head which makes me look tired and run-down. I tried teasing it a little with a fine toothed comb and the results are very good but I am afraid this is bad for my hair. I am very happy with my hair and don't want to start heat styling it. But I am just about ready to throw my hands up because of these issues. I feel that my hair is happiest when styled curly, but when it's this long it doesn't curl more than halfheartedly. |
