Just for the record, Lush shampoo bars are more akin to liquid, commercial shampoo than to CV or PLH shampoo bars. Lush shampoo bars contain SLS; CV and PLH do not, which is why so many people find them to be so conditioning, even without a separate conditioner. CV and PLH are soap-based.

Oooops. Just figured it out. Chagrin Valley. Does it also have lye in it. I read that jr liggets does. What is the scoop on lye anyway. Is it really bad for you? Anybody know? Thanks folks.

Lye or Sodium Hydroxide is what changes the fat/oil into soap. By the time the process is complete, when done right, there should be no damaging ingredient left.
