Arrow Hello!

Oh, so here's where the newbies post first! Can you tell I've been spending too much time reading recipes and tips and not enough time paying attention?

I've been lurking for a while, having recently resolved to learn to actually take care of my waist-length hair and see if I can reach classic length by learning to not dry it out, rip out tangles, overprocess and damage my hair. I've got 1A/B-M-ii hair - I think it may have more of a natural wave than I usually think it does when it's happy and healthy.

I'd love to find a hair twin or two to learn about how they take care of their hair!

Re: Hello!

Hi there and welcome to LHC!

maybe I'm a hair twin? I'm 31 in too, 1bMii and medium blonde.

for validation just wait a bit and the mods will take care of it. took me two days I think, theres a lot of traffic here and they dont always have time to do it right away or just want you to post here first, I guess.

greets, may

Re: Hello!

It's been a couple of weeks since I registered for the forums, so maybe I needed to make a post here. Well, I did finally figure it out! And I realized my introduction kind of stinks...

Let's try again. I'm 23 and I've had long hair all my life - though I'm sure it was short when I was a baby. It's mostly long from neglect; it's easier to keep up with and doesn't require styling or work. However, I was - until recently - doing all the bad hair things to it! I ripped out tangles, I pulled my ponytails tight by splitting the tail and yanking, I piled it on my head when I washed, brushed it wet, rubbed it vigorously with a towel, wore it down all the time, and generally never did anything nice to my hair! (I'm sure a lot of you are wincing, I'm sorry.)

I'm learning better now, though. I've been doing nearly a month's worth of split end search and destroy missions with brand new hair shears. I've gone to mostly condition only washing - though I still use a shampoo on only the scalp about every twelve days (I never did wash my hair more than every three days, though, because it would freak out, so I did something right!). I wear it up or braided more now, and I'm oiling it. I just made myself a mister about fifteen minutes ago - it smells yummy!

My hair is slightly below my waistline, since I'm 5'2.75" - yes, that .75 is important! I want it to reach the crease of my bottom, which is about another ten inches. The color is an ashy light brown, though it's got a lot of darker brunette underneath, and I think with care, it'll darken all over a bit more.

I like cross-stitch and beading, target-shooting and archery, SCA events, Ren Faires, anime conventions, cheesy romance novels, mythology and history, mehndi, weird music, daydreaming, and hiking.

It's nice to meet you, May!

Re: Hello!

Welcome! Posts in Introductions don't add to your post count so make a post on the regular forums and your registration will be validated. I was at waistlength when I joined LHC and my goal was classic too. Right now I'm almost there. Good luck with achieving your goals
