I know we all have days when we get frusterated, so I thought it might be nice to start a positive hair thread. Tell us what you like about your hair, compliment other's hair, whatever you like! Just keep it positive. Maybe we can help someone get over a low period in their hair journey! I'll start. I'm very, very happy with my hair. Sometimes it misbehaves, as all hair does, but the vast majority of the time we get along very well. It's lovely, shiny, healthy hair, and as long as I keep up with its basic needs it behaves itself and does what I want. Now, come on in and feed your hair positive compliments! | | | August 26th, 2006, 10:37 AM | #2 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 232 Type: 3c// | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I am having a good hair day,I took out my two braids this morning that I put it last night after shower. My hair smells and looks so good today | | | August 26th, 2006, 10:56 AM | #3 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Devon, UK Age: 29 Posts: 152 Length: 12/27.5/30 Type: 1b/1c/F/M/i/ii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I like my hair, i dye it black because that makes me happy! i get a few splits but then i do dye it! it stay where i want it to, and is shiney most of the time so there you have it I LIKE MY HAIR!!!! __________________ currently COing every other day. taking silica complex (when i remember!) always on the hunt for products not tested on animals! | | | August 26th, 2006, 10:58 AM | #4 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: East Coast, USA Posts: 286 Length: 16/mbl/class Type: 3b/F/M/iii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I really enjoyed cowashing my hair this morning. I liked how wonderful it felt against my back as the water ran through it. I can really tell it's growing and I love how curly it is. I also loved how soft it felt this morning when I woke up. This is a nice thread. | | | August 26th, 2006, 11:03 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2003 Location: The Fairest Isle ~ England Posts: 917 Length: 16/35/ Type: 2a/C/ii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I love my hair because it is powerful and primitive. I am a stronger being for having long hair and I loved the quality of my virgin hair (which I am gradually recovering). My hair makes me roar with intense ferocity. I love it. | | | August 26th, 2006, 11:31 AM | #6 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Wallace and Gromit Country Posts: 1,392 Length: shldr/TB/????? The downside being that I keep playing with my braid tassle behind my back which makes me look a bit weird in public (what is she doing with her hands back there?!). It's the longest it has ever been It reflects my personality (according to my mum it is fiery, wild and stubborn just like me - not sure she meant it as a compliment though ) It's cheap and easy to care for but I can buy and make lovely hairtoys if I choose too. It's very unusual in these parts to have TB length hair and it makes me feel special. __________________ | | | August 26th, 2006, 11:35 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Virginia Age: 35 Posts: 1,785 Type: 1b/M/ii/iii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I think that the longer my hair gets, the prettier it looks. Usually, I try to keep positive about it, because if not, I would be frustrated at how fine it is. However, my hair is: shiny soft fun to play with! has silver threads through it and it's ME! I am particularly psyched because today when I measured it, it has grown 1.5" in about 6 weeks. For me, that's great! I have been turned on to such great hair knowledge since coming here. I am especially heartened by the number of fabulous folks here above the age of 40 (like me!) who are not becoming helmet-bingo-headed people. Nothin' against Bingo! I just think long hair is a lovely, elegant statement and I am thrilled to be regrowing mine. I hope to soon get brave enough to post another photo of my hair in it's normal, slightly wavy state. I have stopped blowdrying, and that has helped immensely! Aww...I love this place *blush*! | | | August 26th, 2006, 12:18 PM | #10 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Ontario, Canada Age: 49 Posts: 2,597 Length: 22.75/28"/36" Type: 1a/F/ii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | When I was young, and clubbing, "Big Hair" was really in. I have fine straight hair and spent innumerable hours trying to look like a 3a instead of a 1a. Over the years I have learned to love the childlike simplicity of my hair. It's smooth and soft and begs to be stroked. I really love the colour and the silky texture. I just really love my hair! __________________ Franny April 1, 2007--Click “It doesn't matter how long my hair is or what colour my skin is or whether I'm a woman or a man.”--John Lennon | | | August 26th, 2006, 12:22 PM | #11 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 326 Length: 31.5/29/WL Type: 3b/M/C/ii/iii | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I love my hair too ladies! I adore my long thick 3b curls. My curls are healthy and shiny looking. And it doesn't give me hardly any fuss when it comes to styling it, either. | | | August 26th, 2006, 12:23 PM | #12 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Palatine, Illinois Age: 25 Posts: 1,218 Length: 2/24/45 Type: 3a/M/ii/iii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I just love everything about my hair, especally my curls Oh how fantastic curls are I can't wait until it gets longer and curlier! | | | August 26th, 2006, 12:45 PM | #13 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Texas Age: 65 Posts: 295 Length: 12/32/36 Type: 2a/F/ii | | Re: The "I love my hair!" thread | | I've been playing with my hair all day, trying new dos. I managed to make a french crown braid all around, but my husband just rolled his eyes. Soooo, I did a half down crown. I love my hair! I have a beautiful halo crown braid wrapped around my head, and my long gray hair ringlets down to my waist. It's so much nicer than the "old" hair I used to have. When I'm working, reading, or watching tv, I catch myself stroking the back of my head in amazement because it's now so silky! I'm eager to see how my hair unfurls as it grows. I know part of my frustration with the hair around my face comes from short layers on top. As those grow, my hair will be fuller around my face - something exciting to look forward to! And I've learned something so important since I came here - when I would get a trim and my hair would do nothing but stick out, I now know that it was from being cut at the wrong place in the "S" wave! I can look at my hair and see it, and now I can correct it. YAY! I really, really do like my hair now, even when it does give me trouble. There's always a claw clip handy to take care of its obstinate ways! __________________ "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." - Albert Einstein - | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
