Coneheads - How Often do You Shampoo w/Sulphates?

How long will silicone take to build up until a sulfate shampoo is needed to remove it?

Thank God it's a long weekend...apparently I can't spell today.

I think it varies. I haven't used a shampoo since middle of June. So far, my hair is fine with the cones.

Re: Coneheads - How Often do You Shampoo w/Sulphates?

I am sure it would depend on the type of cone and your hairtype and the way you use it i.e. a leave-in or serum or whatever. When I do use cones, I CWC when I feel it start to have a "coating" on it that doesn't feel good. It sort of feels coated, dirty or limp even when rinsed well or COd as opposed to light and bouncy if you understand what I mean.

I'm pretty sure I use cones daily, and I wash with a sulfate shampoo 2 times a week.

I shampoo with sulfates and condition with cones every time I wash, which is every day. I rinse very thoroughly after bothe steps to leave as little residue as possible on my hair.

Re: Coneheads - How Often do You Shampoo w/Sulphates?

I use two pumps of a silicone condish as a leave-in after COing daily, been doing this for almost a month. I've only used a sulfate shampoo once (yesterday) and it wasn't due to cone buildup but rather an oiling experiment gone wrong I use a non-sulfate shampoo once a week or so.

My cone leave-in is kinda low-cone, though, perhaps why I have yet to see build-up.

Re: Coneheads - How Often do You Shampoo w/Sulphates?

I shampoo with sulfates every shampoo, which is about once maybe twice a week. I think it depends on which cones you use. I use a cone heavy conditioner.
