SMT - Little White Somethings

WOW!!! I just tried a version of a SMT. I used Suave Milk and Honey, FOTE Aloe Vera gel, Safflower oil, and some honey.

My hair looks fabulously shiny!!!

However... I have a few little white specks of something that I am combing out of part of my length. Any ideas as to what they are?

They are combable, so no problem. I guess that I didn't rinse well enough?

Re: SMT - Little White Somethings

The aloe probably didn't mix good with the safflower oil. Don't worry, those 'little white things' absorb into your hair. It's all good.

Re: SMT - Little White Somethings

Is SMT supposed to be warmed up first or applied cold? Thank you

I warmed mine slightly on the stove. I coated my dry hair with it, while it was still warm. Since it was fairly runny, I used an old coloring bottle with a long tip to apply it.

Great results! In fact, I want to do another SMT right away!

I mix up a big batch of it in an 18 ounce conditioner bottle. Half full of NG Herbal Conditioner, then 1/4 of aloe gel, 1/4 of honey. I keep it in the shower and shake well before using it cold. If I'm doing a deep treatment, I'll warm up about 1/3 of a cup of it first.

Re: SMT - Little White Somethings

I had the same problem yesterday - little white "goobers", for lack of a better word. I rinsed again and they were still there. So I did some research on Snowymoon's threads, and I got in the tub with warm water and literally floated/soaked my hair for 20 minutes, then rinsed again. (This was what SM said to do if the SMT dries onto your hair.) All gone and my hair feels pretty good. It's the first time I've gone product free probably ever!
