Type: 2b/M/ii/iii | | Indian Herbal Nourisher & cleanser recipes | | Here are two Indian Herbal mixes. The first one is a nourishing hair pack and the other one is a cleanser. Everything is in powdered form. They work quite well, but if you find them too harsh or stripping, you may consider using them on pre-oiled hair. Remember that they can have a darkening effect on the hair. 1. Herbal nourisher Ingredients: Amla : 5 teaspoons Kesut: 3 teaspoons Brahmi: 3 teaspoons Methi: 7 teaspoons Bhringaraj: 1 teaspoon Hibiscus: 1 teaspoon Method of application: Take required quantity of mix and make into a smooth paste with hot water. Apply all over scalp and hair. Keep for about an hour and wash off with shampoo/condish of your choice. 2. Herbal Hair Cleanser Ingredients: Aritha: 6 teaspoons Bahera: 2 teaspoons Henna: 3 teaspoons Methi: 2 teaspoons Neem: 2 teaspoons Method of application; Take required amount and make into a soft paste with water. Wet hair thouroughly. You can use in in two ways. Either take scoops and scrub scalp or put it on as a pack and wash off after some time. You have to find out for yourself what suits you best. Happy playing. | | | May 9th, 2006, 11:32 PM | #2 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Malaysia Age: 33 Posts: 1,433 Length: 20½"/24½"/N/A Type: 1a/F/M/ii | | Re: Indian Herbal Nourisher & cleanser recipes | | Thanks for sharing your recipes, hairyfairy! I'm wondering, does it make a difference if you made the paste with cold water instead of hot? | | | May 10th, 2006, 01:58 AM | #3 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Apr 2005 Age: 35 Posts: 3,165 Length: 28/27/?? I'm a bit lazy to use hot water, but I guess there's no help for it | | | May 10th, 2006, 03:19 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 146 Length: 4/4/10 Type: 1c// | | Re: Indian Herbal Nourisher & cleanser recipes | | Thanx for the recipes, hairfairy! One of these days I'll buy the ingredients and try it for sure! Have you tried these yourself? If yes, could you please share the benefits you've seen? Also, the "noirisher" - is it a deep-condish treatment kind of thing and would you do it before you wash, instead the wash? | | | May 10th, 2006, 07:20 PM | #6 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Third rock from the sun Age: 53 Posts: 528 Length: 37/22/??? Murbella I have used them and regular use of the pack does give you stronger and darker hair. I had to discontinue it as my husband couldn't stand the smell of Fenugreek in my hair. I am now thinking of making up a fresh batch minus the Methi. And you use the nourisher as a pre-wash. | | | May 11th, 2006, 03:42 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 146 Length: 4/4/10 Type: 1c// | | Re: Indian Herbal Nourisher & cleanser recipes | | Thanx, hairyfairy!
