Supposedly you run it through your hair and it will trim just the split ends. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and had good results? The idea sounds great, but I'm leary of trying it before hearing people's results, so if you have tried this product, tell us the good, bad, ugly, etc. __________________ Christi Hand crocheted bun covers Current Regime: Burts Bees Shampoo Bar, Garnier Fructis Long & Strong Conditioner | | | April 20th, 2006, 08:26 PM | #2 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: California dreamin' Age: 25 Posts: 2,416 Length: shldr/26.5"/term Type: 2c/3a/M/C/ii | | Re: Split End Trimmer - Anyone tried this? | | If memory serves me right there was a thread about this little apparatus a while ago and the responses weren't very positive; something about putting your hair through it (scary!). How does the machine know which ends are split? The idea isn't bad, but personally, I'm sticking to good 'ol manual S&D. __________________ Gentlemen prefer updos. And I'm not too sure of how sharp of a cut it makes from the diagrams. __________________ 2a/M/ii- currently maintaining at hips, next stop tailbone. I was a bit dubious and rightly so. I watched the channel in question and finally saw the product being advertised. They claim it trims any hair that sticks up into the wells inside the machine. They show all the little ends that come out of the container at the end. I tried it several times according to instructions and the way it was used on camera but nothing happened. The machine vibrated and was definitely on but there was no trimmings in the container. I've never used it since. It also tangled my fine hair which was annoying. I think it's just a waste of money. | | | April 21st, 2006, 02:36 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Arkansas Age: 34 Posts: 733 Length: ??/42/44 Type: 2a/F/ii | | Re: Split End Trimmer - Anyone tried this? | | There are a few here that have had really good experiences with this. Overall, the consensus seems to be negative (although I think most of the negatives have been from people who have never actually tried it). I have one. I've only used it a couple of times. The first time, it did get a lot of splits off. The second time, there weren't any hairs in the container. So, I'm undecided about it. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
