Well..... Are there? Seriously. How long does the castor oil application technique take to get results? Are there other oils, supplements or herbs that have been shown to increase lash length/thickness? Any products? I remember seeing this in the Vermont Country Store catalog, but it's kind of expensive and I don't even know if it works. __________________ My Journal "They're {the fans are} a lot sexier than they used to be. My eyelashes and eyebrows have really gotten thinner thanks to my itchy eye allergies. | | | February 14th, 2006, 06:49 PM | #4 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: California Posts: 457 Length: 2 in/42/45 Type: 2b/M/iii | I'm interested too. For as thick as my hair is, my eyelashes are pathetic. I always find it rather unfair when I see a man with long, thick eyelashes. | | | February 15th, 2006, 01:39 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Jan 2006 Age: 25 Posts: 70 | There is something called Ardell and it`s for the lashes and brows, but I can`t came up with the exact name of it, but I`ll try to look it up. I`ve read very good reviews about it and I`m gonna try it myself if I`ll have enough money to buy things again. There is also another populair product called Lucia and it`s from Japan and this one is even more populair than the Ardell, but most people combinate this two products together for more results!! I would give up a little thickness on my head for some longer lashes. I really wouldnt miss it much. I've always heard about Castor oil, so I wonder if anyone has had any success. | | | February 15th, 2006, 04:06 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: london Age: 35 Posts: 2,604 Length: crop/bra/hip+ Type: 2a/F/ii | Well, i oil my lashes daily. I use oil to remove eye makeup but also to moisturise the whole eye area. I also moisturise with oil afterwards and i do get compliments on my lashes. But to be fair i've always had compliments on my lashes so it may just be genetic. But i definately think oiling makes a difference. I use mostly sweet almond oil, or mix it with castor oil. Sometimes i use wheatgerm oil or avocado. One would apply it everyday or night and you will see results after one month for sure. I have seen (and still see because I am still using it) results before one month and sometimes I was not able to apply it everyday. My friend's eyelashes are so long that when she puts mascara on them they reach the beginning of her eyebrows. I hope that helps. Type: 2c/C/ii | If you are using castor oil, you might want to make sure if it's pure. I have good eye lashes (genes from mom). But I got to say, I've used a drop of castor oil on my eye lashes for a long time and they looked better than the time when I didnt use castor oil on the lashes! You can see the difference in 3 days to a week. Not that they will grow longer and thicker in those 3 days, but the castor oil seems to perk the eye lashes somehow! Castor oil is also a main ingredient in some ayurvedic preparations of Kajal /Kohl (traditional eyeliner made with natural ingredients). These are supposedly, good for the eyes and promotes the growth of eye lashes. __________________ ~Smiles 'All the wonders you seek are within yourself' - Thomas Browne My long hair journal: Dancing with the Wind! | | | February 15th, 2006, 07:00 AM | #10 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Las Vegas Age: 42 Posts: 1,339 Length: bob/28.5"/30" Type: 2a/2b/M/ii | I wonder if applying castor oil to the eye area would help alleviate fine lines as well. Great advice. I think I'm going to find some of that Jamaican castor oil as soon as my bottle from Whole Foods is gone. I was on a total castor oil jag last night. I applied it to my eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, everything. I was vurray oily! __________________ My Journal "They're {the fans are} a lot sexier than they used to be. I found the oil wick-ed up my lashes and ended up in my eyes and blurred my vision. Which then causes my eyes to tear up. So then I"m blind with red eyes. Attractive...NOT. I even find if I wash my face with oil I can't get enough off my eye area to avoid the blurred vision/tearing up. What am I doing wrong? Anyone else with this problem? (I'd love to grow thicker lashes...like all of my hair my lashes are fine. And I have a bald spot in the middle of my right upper lid due to a cyst removal surgery. The surgeon says it will fill in with time, but it's been well over a year now so I'm thinking not.) | | | February 15th, 2006, 09:20 AM | #12 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Oct 2005 Age: 29 Posts: 91 Type: 1a/1b/F/i/ii | Shaeyes (Trifala Kajal) : A very special combination of herbs & pure almond oil to pamper eyes. The makeup is not very good for your eyelashes because it clogs the pores and coats the hair follicles and taking it off, even if you do it gently, can pull eyelashes out. However, many of you want to wear eye makeup because the benefits to you overwhelm the drawbacks, so I guess my solution isn't that helpful. | | | February 15th, 2006, 11:27 AM | #14 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Georgia, USA Age: 43 Posts: 2,775 Length: waist/hip/??? I am highly allergic to mascara especially. Heck, my eyes are itchy no matter what. Maybe I can just brush on some oil to thicken up my lashes. It's so strange that the hair on my head is so dark yet my body hair is very light. My eyebrows are light brown and much thinner than I'd like. | | | February 15th, 2006, 11:31 AM | #15 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: At the Morgan Ranch Age: 21 Posts: 1,674 Length: 28"/37"/40" Type: 2a/M/C/ii/iii | Re: Eyelash Growth Tips | | Oooooh this is interesting..........I never knew your eyelashes could grow any longer lol | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
