And it said that one of the other ingredients is silica. Does that mean it has horsetail in it? | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:21 AM | #2 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: stockholm, sweden Age: 25 Posts: 271 Type: 1b// | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | Quote: | Originally Posted by delacr11 I bought biotin the other day. I assume there's not high amounts of silica because it is mainly biotin and the silica is just "added" to it. Do you think I can still take it. | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:29 AM | #4 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Spoiled Rotten Dog Land Age: 44 Posts: 411 Length: 18/21-26/31 Type: 2c/F/M/iii | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | I worked in a pharmacy for seven years and there is no way I would take anything while pregnant(OTC or not) without checking with my doctor. You really should make sure first. | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:31 AM | #5 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Nov 2005 Age: 31 Posts: 410 Length: 15 /24/40 Type: 1c/2a/M/ii/iii | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | Can I just call a pharmacist and ask if its safe? | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:31 AM | #6 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Nov 2005 Age: 31 Posts: 410 Length: 15 /24/40 Type: 1c/2a/M/ii/iii | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm trying. | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:34 AM | #7 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Spoiled Rotten Dog Land Age: 44 Posts: 411 Length: 18/21-26/31 Type: 2c/F/M/iii | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | Pharmacists (at least in the US) are not allowed to make any suggestions when it comes to pregnancy. They will refer you to your doctor-liability being what it is and the fact that they aren't specifically trained in obstetrics. I'd put in a quick call to the doctor. Better safe than sorry. | | | December 11th, 2005, 08:35 AM | #8 | | Long Hair Devotee Join Date: Nov 2005 Age: 31 Posts: 410 Length: 15 /24/40 Type: 1c/2a/M/ii/iii | | Re: Is all silica from horsetail? | | Quote: | Originally Posted by centurytoolate Pharmacists (at least in the US) are not allowed to make any suggestions when it comes to pregnancy.
