Re: emulsifying wax?????

It's a vegetable based emulsifier, meaning it makes water and oil ingredients mix together. It's made of cetearyl alcohol and Polysorbate 60. Some people find it to be very coating, but I don't have a problem with it used normally. It didn't work very well when I used a conditioner with it for CO, though.

Boy, you can say that again! If you are washing with shampoo and conditioner it probably won't cause too much trouble, but I had yucky icky buildup issues when COing with conditioners containing vegetable emulsifying wax.

One of my favorite sites is www.makeyourowncosmetics.com. They have a good ingredient encyclopedia. It's not too technical but not too simplistic, either. It's a good place for generic information.
