Red face Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

Anyone tried for example the Tropical Coconut one? I like that smell, and I ave heard good things about it. Is there anyone on the board who can tell something about it?

Re: Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

I've used the Suave Naturals coconut condish but not the shampoo. However, I have used Suave's clarifying shampoo and it certainly does the job! It seems to strip my hair a bit more than I would like to do on a regular basis, but I find the companion condish does a good job taking care of that.

Re: Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

I've been using it lately, because I ran out of my CON shampoo. I only use it on the scalp and let the suds run down. It makes my scalp itchy, and like mariaAZ stated, I find it leaves my hair a little on the dry side. Mind you any regular shampoo leaves my hair on the dry side.

'Never used the shampoos but the conditioners are awesome!! If you're looking for a shampoo to use, I suggest going for a natural kind/non-mainstream brand. I used Dove when I still shampooed and that worked alright for me.

Re: Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

I had considered trying Suave shampoos because some people seem to really like them. Plus, they're really easy on the wallet. But when I went to read the ingredients in their shampoos, the second and third are ALS and ALES. I said forget it. Too harsh for me.

Re: Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

I use Suave naturals tropical coconut shampoo. My hair seems to feel better if I use a bit less than I normally would and dilute it; if I use it just straight on my hair, it can make my hair squeaky.

Re: Suave shampoos. Good or bad?

Wish I knew more about ingredients, I looked up both Suave Coconut shampoos on & this ingredient might be harsh Ammonium Xylene-Sulfonate. Maybe someone more ingredient knowledgable would know. Here's the ingredient list:

Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Chloride, Coconut Extract (Cocos Nucifera), Silk Amino Acids, Cocamide MEA, PEG-5 Cocamide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycol Distearate, Fragrance, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Isopropyl Palmitate, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Ammonium Xylene-Sulfonate, Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Honey Extract (Mel), Nettle Extract (Urtica Diocia), Rosemary Extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis)
