I just HAD to share my excitement...

I've recently got into beading and jewellry making in general and have been experiementing with chain as well. I've been making necklaces, earrings, bracelets etc.

I live in Japan and beading is a popular hobby over here, and so there are plenty of shops selling equipment. I recently found a really large shop selling just about everying under one roof; Including hairpins complete with little hole or twirly metal head at the top to fix beads, metal pieces etc!!!! I am SO excited!!!! I can now decorate my own hairpins.... . They also sell hairslides and combs to decorate, but they look a bit complicated.

Before joining LHC I never put my hair up unless to get it out of the way when cooking, but now I'm doing it more often, I'm needing some exciting and original hair toys...

Anyone else out there making their own hairpins or into beading/jewellry making?

Re: I just HAD to share my excitement...

if I can find places where they sell pieces to make jewelry id love to make my own stuff !!
They sell those chainmail kits in medieval boutiques here, for a basic ''good'' one it costs about 100-150$ I definitely want to buy one of those !
my boyfriend has a nice chainmail bracelet that a friend made for him a long time ago but im the one wearing it all the time
there are so much things Id like to buy right now, sigh

I love this site: http://beadshop.com/

The chainmail sounds really interesting. I love the look of chain.
