how does this happen ? i went from stringy stick straight when i was a little girl to thick and wavy now !! it's mostly the underneath layer that has the waves. the underneath is now a 2b and the most visable (tope) layer is a 1c !! it's craziness ! lol
so does anyone know how or why this happens and how i can get those pretty waves to surface so that the rest of my hair is that pretty ?

I'm not sure why it changes, either. Mine also went from stick straight when I was a child to what it is now. Big changes in hormones can cause this to happen, and sometimes hair will grow back in differently after chemotherapy.
I've gone through curly, wavy, straight, and now back to wavy. It hasn't been dull, that's for sure!
The trick to good wave/curl formation seems to be to get the hair as hydrated as possible. CO washing, diluting shampoo, deep treatments, and anything else that doesn't overly cleanse the hair are some things to try.

Mine is like that... prior to puberty I had stick straight hair that wouldn't hold a curl for anything. By the time I joined LHC I was typing my hair 2a, but the longer I stayed here and the better I cared for it, the curlier it got!! The canopy is still a little straighter than the rest, but not by much.
