How to attain height in a french twist?

Hi! I keep working on getting that french twist right, my hair is a little past shoulder length, I think it's a good length for this style. My hair is very soft and slippery so no matter how tight I twist it, it seems to fall down in a matter of an hour or so, but I'm still working on it!

Anyway, one thing I'd like would be to get it to be a little higher on my head. It seems to always wind up at about ear level. Is there a trick to it?

Thanks in advance.

I think the height comes from having a lot of hair in the twist. As your hair grows longer you'll have more to stuff in the twist, so it will naturally want to poke out the top of it. At least that's how it works for me.

Re: How to attain height in a french twist?

Have you seen the instructions on my homepage? With that technique it's pretty easy to put your upper "anchor point" just where you want it. Starting your twist with gathering your hair higher up should also help.
