Seasonal shedding anyone??

I am shedding worse than my dogs! I cleaned the beater bar on the vaccuum today. and there was what I thought was a lot of my hair, and I'm noticing more in my brush than usual. I baby my hair something fierce: comb gently, only BBB, always wear a hat outside, almost always wear it up---I seem to remember it shedding like this last year at this time. Does anyone else notice seasonal shedding patterns??

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

Yep, me too. I am using some oils that I hope will lessen it for now and for the future as well. I am also paying close attention to my diet. No sugar, little to no grains, healthy fats, good quality meats and protiens, and lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits. I will most likely not know if all of this works until next year, but this year the shedding was not as bad as in past years. I was following this diet, but was not using herbs and oils that are reportedly good for thinning/shedding hair.

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

Yes! I've been shedding lately, too. I finally start treating my hair right and this is what I get...(sigh) Good news is, it's slowing down after a few weeks of heavy action. Now I'm seeing leetle hairs sprouting, maybe 1/4" long, in the front. Not sure if it's the vitamins or what, but I'll take it!

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I think I shed more in the Fall. I just
went through a vicious shedding cycle,
I mean I lost a bunch.

I got it to stop by starting up the
Nioxin Semodex, but I think part of it
was seasonal.

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I shed a lot of hair this Nov and Dec. It seems to have slowed a bit. I have a thinner pony tail now, and I have none to spare. It really irked me, and I am taking all the nutrients like Biotin and MSM....drats......

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I've been shedding horribly since September - I cover the shower wall whenever I wash my hair, and I leave handfuls of it hidden in my boyfriend's car to surprise him (it's funny how upset he gets :P). I've started taking MSM to control it a bit, but I don't know yet if it's working. I'll keep y'all posted.

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I've been shedding like a maniac -- two or three times in the shower I have to collect the hair on my hands, twist it into a little rope, and lean out of the shower to throw it away. Don't want to freak out the Manfriend or have a huge discarded Slimey Hair Beast in the drain for him to stumble upon. Ugh!

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I have a wolf cross, and for years now I have started shedding just as he starts to shed, in the spring and fall. Poor vacuum.

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I usually shed most around the vernal and autumnal equinoxes. I have a little bit around the winter & summer solstices, but not as heavily as around the equinoxes.

I'm not sure why, it just happens that way.

Re: Seasonal shedding anyone??

I shed little varmints like crazy during the early part of Autumn...It was disheartening to see all that hair coming out, but fortunately the mammoth hairballs are shrinking to just a few hairs.
