Type: 1a/F/ii | | Introducing Harley (several pics) | | I thought I would introduce you all to Harley my newest little kitty Harley has been with us just about a month now...but how we got him is a sad story. Harley's mom was a stray cat who ended up having kittens in our neighbors garage. She was a good mom and took care of her babies (she only had 2) the best she could. Our neighbor and I both would help with feeding mom. The weekend of July 4th I was driving down to my son's karate class and was soo sad to see that the poor mother cat had gotten hit on the road. All I could think about was those poor little kittens sitting in that garage waiting for mom to come back. They needed help! I managed to catch Harley later that afternoon but his sister was way too fast for me and the kids. My neighbor finally managed to catch her about 5 days later and she now has a good home with a friend of his and is named Emma. It didn't take him long to get used to living in the house and it only took a day for Tigger (our middle cat) to decide that he really, really loved his new friend. He still gives him a little forced bath everyday....it's sooo cute to watch. Here's Harley taking a little nap... Here he is playing with his favorite buddy.... And after you play you always need another nap... Aren't kitties just adorable __________________ Mamacat 1aFii | | | August 2nd, 2004, 10:30 AM | #2 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: May 2004 Location: Toronto Age: 58 Posts: 3,648 Length: 23.5/32/35 Type: 2c/M/i/ii | | Re: Introducing Harley (several pics) | | oh my, htey really are adorable. i'm glad harley's found a loving home.... __________________ Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks. I love kitties. Thanks so much for posting the pictures! I rarely see cats anymore now I'm in my new apartment. They are forbidden It's so funny how they get along! When my mom took in two little stray kittens a couple years ago, the older cats would smack them if they got too close (we kept their nails trimmed, it's ok). Go figure. | | | August 2nd, 2004, 10:52 AM | #4 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Oakland, CA Age: 36 Posts: 2,272 Length: pixie/chin/40" Type: 1c/M/ii | | Re: Introducing Harley (several pics) | | Oh they are too cute! Type: 1a/F/ii | | Re: Introducing Harley (several pics) | | Faolin Ruadh: I was very worried about how they would get along when I brought Harley in. Tigger is so used to being king of the house that I thought he would HATE the idea of another kitty in here. (We do have an older cat also (Misty) but she needs to be seperated from all the other animals so she lives in our downstairs. She just doesn't like other animals and will be very mean to them - Tigger has a scar on his nose to prove this!) Tigger pouted for a day and then 'adopted' the kitty. I never dreamed he would be so sweet to Harley. He doesn't get even get upset when he's laying there relaxing and Harley comes along to jump on his head. Tigger is a very special kitty Mariah: You are soo right! Misty, our older cat, I got from a home for stray and abused cats. Tigger, our middle cat, was also a rescue kitty. He was just a kitten when we got him but his mom had him under a trailer in our neighborhood. They are both such sweeties (well, Misty is very sweet to people - not other cats and dogs) so I'm sure Harley will turn out wonderful. Thanks to everyone - I will pass along your compliments (and hugs and chin scritches) to Harley. But, you know, I suspect he already knows he's pretty darn cute LOL. __________________ Mamacat 1aFii | | | August 3rd, 2004, 04:50 AM | #13 | | Long Hair Guru Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Here, rather than there. I am glad that people like you folks are around. It's really funny that my dad discouraged my mom and I from hanging out at the local animal shelter anymore because we kept bringing home cats who's time was up there. At one time, we had FIVE cats! We are both bleeding hearts It makes me happy to see other people who care so much for little animals | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
