Mind Reader

Here's something interesting...

See if you can figure out how they do it.

There are only so many possible answers you can get. All possible answers share the same symbol on each turn.

Formual is number ab - (a+b) = s
For any given starting number, s=9*A
All multiples of 9 share the same symbol on each turn.

Try it:

53= 53-(5+3) = 45 or 5*9=45

72= 72-(7+2) = 63 or 7*9=63

Math problem solved.

I love figuring these things out. lol I have too much time on my hands.

I worship and revere you. I would rather have all my fingernails gnawed by rabid mice than do math stuff.

Hehe, that was really clever. It took me a bit to figure out, but I see Cheryl beat me to posting the formula.

It only worked 25% of the time for me (1 of 4 attempts).

I'm going back to read the mathematical explaination of it.

I hate magic . . . I have to know how it works!

<sigh> I don't get it! I understand your formula fine, but I don't understand how the program "reads your mind". It is actually a 1 in 9 chance that it will read your mind, then? (since there are 9 symbols)?

Notice: when I "get it" I get it, when I don't . . . I'm totally flabbergasted!!!! There's no real "in between" for me!
