Formual is number ab - (a+b) = s
For any given starting number, s=9*A
All multiples of 9 share the same symbol on each turn.
Try it:
53= 53-(5+3) = 45 or 5*9=45
72= 72-(7+2) = 63 or 7*9=63
Math problem solved.

(since there are 9 symbols)? Notice: when I "get it" I get it, when I don't . . . I'm totally flabbergasted!!!!
