Hair Updates from Bees

time for a periodical hair update.

I *think* the shed is over. I said that before but apart from hormonal hair issues and problems with washing, it seems to be under control. Yay. I have a lot of baby hairs growing out ....well, pretty much everywhere. I could rival Pixna in the bozo states right now!!

My recent success with a braided pony bun and hairstick has been repeated because I decided I liked the style and it's not too much bother. I even managed to get it to stay with just a stick and no ghd pins. It's that wooden hair stick I got via Madeleine and I think the twisty design helps a lot.

While I was on holiday I met up with a lovely woman who I first came across at a conference I was at last spring. She is from Sri Lanka and has beautiful waist length black hair. I had my hair in a single braid (as I often do) and she commented that she didn't see that on very many women, and that it was a very Asian look. She said nice things about the condition and length of my hair. That was very nice - especially coming from another longhair! We talked about hair, and salwar and kemeeze, and the wearing of hair with the same.

Today I did a vinegar rinse for the first time because I had to wash upside down over the bath at my grandma's house, and thats not good for my scalp. It leaves a white buildup, so I thought vinegar might help. It isn't totally dry yet, and I won't be able to tell properly until tomorrow but I think it's alright. I am slightly concerned that the vinegar (even dilute) might irritate my sore scalp (which is going through it's seasonal sensitivity at the moment as the weather is damp to dry to damp again).

I'll have to get DT to do new length pics later, because I apparently am incapable of doing them myself (as I've just discovered!!) As my hair gets longer I find I need different kinds of care, and so anyone who has made the odyssey from tailbone to classic and beyond and has hair handling wisdom to share, feel free!!

The upshot of the shed seems to be that my hair feels collectively more vulnerable. I keep it up more and I try to handle it less. I ened more reliable styles because i don't want to have to keep fiddling with it during the day. I need to perfect wearing twisted styles (buns and figure 8's) without stuff sliding out.

Routine still the same. CWC and leave ins, twice a week.

So good to hear from you Bees. I'm glad your shedding is over. Isn't nice to meet someone in real life that you can talk long hair with?

Good to hear that the shedding has stopped!

Don't you love compliments from strangers (well, heck, from anyone)? Your hair must be looking great!
