The journal system at TLHC is different from many other journaling/blogging sites. In general at online blog-type sites people build circles and cliques of friends and contacts within a larger collection of strangers who have no expectation of encountering a site-wide, single purpose. It's one big free-for-all, and everyone can say whatever they like to whomever. There are no repercussions for dissing or flaming another member who is considered to be external to a particular group of friends.
On the other hand, TLHC is a web community with a more limited focus, and the membership is considered to be a large extended "family" of people interested in the main subject of long hair. While certain circles of friendship naturally develop around common interests, it is unacceptable to treat other members poorly because they are outside of a particular clique. TLHC policy is that all community members will treat each other with respect. If a member annoys you to the point where you cannot say anything nice, then take advantage of the Ignore or Report Post button. |
