Question about natural hair dyes

I've searched through this forum, and looked at the Henna Thread.
But the information i've gathered is fragmented, and I'm still very confused.
There doesn't seem to be a thread stating what exactly is Henna, Indigo, and cas..ia? (forgot spelling) are there other kinds of hair dyes?
Do these all come from Henna or are different plants?
and are these the only kinds of natural, permanent hair dyes?

I'm considering dying my hair.. and am wondering what effect these dyes (I don't even know what my choices are) will have on black / bleached blond hair?

lol. i know i am probably way off, but right now I'm thinking, henna makes light hair red. Indigo Makes light hair blue, and cassia makes light hair Yellow.

Have you visited Henna for Hair? I believe they have resources that answer all your questions.
