Why use a wooden/plastic spoon to mix henna?

I just forgot and used a metal spoon  is it ruined?

I have no idea if it's ruined or not, 'cause I've always used plastic, but... uhm... I don't think I'd put it on my hair. o.o

Then again, I manged to dye a rubber bathmat green today with henna some how, so I'm probably just being cautious. Maybe get some shed hair and use it as a test strand, to see what happens?

Well, with regular, permantent dye, it says in the instructions not to use metal hair clips.....I forget why...it does something to the chemicals...

You're not supposed to have henna come into contact with ANY metals for fear of an adverse reaction -- that's the reason why you have to be careful when using dye over henna or henna over dye due to the aluminum in the dye. You may or may not have ruined your henna -- get some hair off your brush and do a strand test before using it just to make sure the hair doesn't turn green...

All I've gathered so far with net research is that it can change the color.

Ooo....adverse reaction? Yikes!
