I've been on the phone with her pretty much every day for the past week since she got the news...she's going in for a double mastectomy in 2-3 weeks.
I wanted to drop a note to remind all the ladies here to take care of themselves...it only takes a few minutes once or twice a month to do a self exam, but it could save your life. DO IT!!
Sorry, to be so blunt...

Brenda - I am so sorry. I'm sure you will getting much information but for whatever it may help: my aunt had breast cancer and is one of the many over ten year survivors.
This is an incredibly scary disease even when all goes well. Your friend will need much support, she is lucky to have you.
Best Wishes...Gabi

And ......When it's time - go get that mammogram - no matter what you've heard.
Brenda - I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Your support is invaluable to her right now - good for you.
Take care.

My mom is a survivor now for the last 10 years and I my best friend lost one breast over 10 years ago, they're both doing great!
Remind your friend of the successes and help her get in touch with other survivors if you/she haven't already thought of that.
She's in my prayers!

YES! I am convinced that a positive mindset is essential to healing.
I'll be thinking of both of you.
