View Full Version : UPDATE on the Ball/Tenderheaded order.....

LisaJaney
February 10th, 2004, 04:25 PM
I got almost everything here (two combs and a stickbarrette are backordered from Tenderheaded; they said they had hoped to mail them yesterday, but I haven't heard back from them to see IF they went out yesterday. Also one item from Ball Beauty, but it should go in the mail tomorrow)

So: I haven't weighed ANYTHING because....well, here's where it gets "it's a long story"-ish. We own a pizza restaurant and have to WEIGH the cheese for the pies, right? Well, we also have a second scale for weighing the dough-balls for breadsticks and such, and Dave broke one of the scales early last week. The dang things cost $200 from the restaurant-supply houses! Well, we decided to try a cheaper scale and got a postal scales at Staples for $70, but it was OFF by .2 oz (when the "exactly 1# weight" we have was put on it, it only said 15.8 oz). I know that 1/5 of an ounce isn't much, but when you're putting 1/5 oz more cheese PER PIZZA, that really adds up in a day, and so the scale wasn't suitable. So, Dave borrowed MY postage scale from home to use for breadsticks and the dough-person fell in LOVE with it and wouldn't give it back and....well, consequently I have been without my scale for a week now and couldn't weigh ANYTHING for shipping. Just today the replacement scale arrived (it's an exact copy of my home-scale, and only cost $40 TOTAL on eBay - yay eBay - and it is VERY accurate.) So: now that I have my scale back, I plan to drag all the stuff to work tomorrow (I have to work) and box-n-weigh things between cutting pizzas. Whew! I should be able to give ya totals tomorrow night. (Well, except the few backordered-things ladies -- they'll have to wait just a bit)

Thanks SO much!!!!
Hugs,
Lisa

Well LJ, I didn't get in on this order but HAD to read your post and just like I thought, it cracked me up. Between you and Melusina I end up laughing out loud at least once a day at work. ;)

OK, turns out that there are really only TWO backordered ladies. Drumroll please:
Nastasska (but she already knew it) and
t-River (isn't it odd that the two combs and the one barrette she ordered are the ONLY things backordered?????)

I will be boxing and weighing things today (and addressing them) and getting totals to you all tonight via PM. I'll have full payment-instructions, too, and can even "invoice" those of you who admit to being a little lost when it comes to SENDING money through PayPal. (that's harder than GETTING money, *I* think!)

OK, I'll be talking to you all later today!
Hugs,
Lisa

GOOD NIGHT NURSE! (Pgw, here's another laugh for you!)
I keep thinking I smell dogpoop, now and again. Thought maybe the dog came in here and farted, but it keeps wafting by. FINALLY, I look and see there's a little spot where one of the dogs made a tiny DROPLET on the hardwoodfloor in my computer-room here. So I clean it up. Then I keep thinking "Gee, it sure smells more than just that one little droplet.....and notice another smallish plop. I clean that, too, but now the smell is just STRONGER. Then I look UNDER the computer table and gee whiz, there's like a huge PILE of the stuff about 6" from my foot! Holy crap! (well, not LITERALLY, but you know.....) Time to get out the Lysol....AGAIN. Darn dogs! TIme for a CORK!

OK, more updates:
Nastasska: Michael has the other case you wanted, and shipped it out today. Their stuff comes pretty fast, so it shouldn't be long now!
T-River: nothing from Tenderheaded yet, but I'll keep you posted!

Everybody else: I got almost everything boxed (good golly, we were SO busy - thank God - for lunch that I didn't hardly have time to do ANYTHING but cut cut cut pizzas.) and weighed, but now I have to get the PRICES for those weights. Some of them are pushing priority-weight, so I need to figure those out by zipcodes. I am missing a few addresses, too........but will ask for those when I PM the dollar-amounts. I can do that tomorrow as a break from sewing (I have a lot of sewing to do, too)

And I need to PM Karen about door-widths, which ain't gonna make sense to anybody but Karen and me, but that's okay........mumbling to self, trying to remember everything........ ;)

LisaJaney, Linda Carter is outta job--you are superwoman. Jeepers. That poopie story just made me laugh. Mwahahahahaha! And Notjo, I thought for a second you were musing about a poopie filled box, not a pizza filled box.

Goody, goody, hairtoys a-coming!

Right quick before bed:

I sent these parcels out today:
Ladybug
Scarlett
Tresses
Dulci
Pixna

Tomorrow (Friday), I will send:
CurlsnTexas
Madeleine
MissPriss
Speedie (got the Sally-goods today, yippee!)
Purple Cow

OH! Asked Roy today about sending certain things through the mail (like polish remover) and thought he'd blow a gasket. And then he was REALLY leery of the things I sent today (all of which were nothing more than brushes and combs) and I had to reassure him over and over that, "No, these are ONLY hairbrushes and haircombs and nothing more than hairbrushes and haircombs...." Egads, I thought I could see him trembling......

(eta: Purple Cow's name to the "things I will send today" list)

Just wanted to say that I got my package yesterday. I'm *loving* my new brush. Even got my boyfriend to brush my hair for me last night. (He'd never done it before in the year we've been together so he got a good laugh at how I melt when I get my hair brushed.) And I can't wait to try out my new nailpolishes. The colors are even more gorgeous than they looked on the site. Thanks for doing this order!

Got my yesterday, too. My new pearlized large Ficcare is *wonderful*. And it was awesome getting it yesterday, because it made a lousy day a whole lot better. Thanks, LJ!

BAK!! here
(Brushing at the keyboard LOL) I LOVE my Denman 4 And all my stuff, it doesn't rip my hair!!!! Thanks for the suggestion (teacherbear) and all Denman's rock!
The hairbarret is really nice too and doesn't slip at all ( I thought it might since it doesn't have teeth).
TYTYTY!

Oh, I am so glad you are liking your items! There were SO many things that just looked to "Gee, I'd like to keep THAT one", but I just packed them up and sent them on (rats!). I especially liked t-River's stick barrette. It was REALLY smooth and it makes the hair go THROUGH the hole in the middle of the stick, so that even thin/fine hair like MINE would do well with a barrette like that. I may have to think about getting ME one of those at some point. Karen ordered Denman with REALLY widely-spaced teeth that looked really promising: the D41. I liked that one, too. The Chrome that Dulci got was really pretty and very shiny. And the woodies are always pretty, but that small woody that Pix got is adorable.

All this shopping frenzy and you know what? I didn't order ME a single thing this time. I just couldn't decide on anything, and then I'd ordered from Ball and hung up and thought "Gosh, I didn't get anything for ME!!!" and that was that! Oh well. There'll probably be another one down the road........there always is. The hairtoy/brushes orders are fun and easy to do......

LJ,

I came home from a great day with my ds6 shopping and running around to medical appointments...and visiting

When I got home there was this great Reebok shoe box waiting for me. It had my denman brush and two tubs of semi-solid gold. MMMMM. Mega Moisture tomorrow and I've already tried out my brush.

Thank you very much, a big slice of pie for you. You are a star

Cheers

Yay, Speedie~ That brush is nice, isn't it! (and don't look at the SIZE of shoes I wear.....gunboats, baby!)

I am glad the things got there and in fine shape! I just love doing those group orders. It's kinda like Christmas......

Got my Aquis towel yesterday, wohoo! :D Thanks heaps, LJ, :smooches:
Used it right away after washing my hair last night, and that towel is awesome. It wraps into a turban beautifully, no slipping, and my hair air dried in an hour afterwards instead of the usual 1 1/2 - 2. What a time saver.
Thanks again :D

You know, Madeleine, Two times now those towels have been ordered and each time I think "You know, that's a really nice towel" (I washed my hands, then unzipped the pouch that contains it and sneaked a finger inside to FEEL the fabric and it's REALLY soft and........*sigh*) Karen ordered one the first time, and I thought "Dang, that feels so NICE, maybe I ought to get one the next time around!" But I didn't. And then when yours came, I did the same thing and....well, okay, maybe NEXT time! And yes, there will most likely BE a next-time! (there always is!)

That is funny, I thought you were the one who raved about those towels some time - I guess I got that mixed up ... Whoever it was, thank you, I'm glad I ordered one :)

Wow, Nastasska, that's pretty darn fast! And does your doggie like the purple nailpawlish?

That case you ordered was REALLY pretty; I sure didn't want anything to happen to the mirror in transit, so packed it really well with LOTS Of puffy padding!

And Madeleine, I can't remember WHO raved about the towel. Hmmm..... I do know they are SOFT fabric. I swear, NEXT time! :D
