View Full Version : To Anne and others who use Herbal sprays
charlyee January 30th, 2004, 07:40 AM I just ordered the Roseymary hydrosol from here
http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/fwater/fwater.php.
I plan to use it diluted with distilled water in my mister for every day use. Anyone try this and what is your experience and advice on this?
Thanks Much
zoya_ January 30th, 2004, 09:57 AM I have never tried rosemary hydrosol, but I use rose hydrosol very often. Like the smell and the feel.
I don't dilute it, though - don't think it is needed, for a hydrosol is a distillate already.

Anne January 30th, 2004, 11:11 AM Hi Charlyee,
I haven't tried the rosemary either but if I did, I'd be sure to use it on my scalp for growth. Please let me know how it smells when you get it.
I like the rose, sandalwood and the orange blossom.
The next time I order though, I'm going to keep mine in the fridge. The last hydrosols I had didn't keep very well in the cupboard.
Hugs,
Anne
charlyee January 31st, 2004, 01:38 PM Thank you Anne and Zoya. I have use the Rose water from them also and I refrigerate it as you suggested Anne.
Zoya I was diluting them to last longer, since I really use a lot of spray on my hair.
Anne, I was planning to use it as a conditioning spray for my length, supposedly Rosemary is for dark hair and has conditioning properties.
What do you two think? I got carried away and got the largest bottle so I hope it does woork.
Thanks and take care
Anne January 31st, 2004, 02:03 PM Charlyee, I've read that rosemary is good for keeping dark hair dark. I've used it as a rinse once or twice, using the actual herb steeped in water. I've never used it enough to notice if it darkens the hair but I did notice some extra shine. I'm sure the hydrosol will add shine and be wonderful for your dark hair and that qualifies as conditioning I guess.
It certainly won't hurt ;)
The leaf is good for circulation which is why if I had some, I'd use it on my scalp as well.
I love the smell of rosemary! It's such a chearful smell, don't you think?
Rose January 31st, 2004, 10:34 PM What about one for light colored hair? which would that be?
charlyee February 1st, 2004, 03:04 PM Hi Rose, I am not an expert on herbs, but I thik "chamomile" is good for light colored hair.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. :)

Yep, chamomile is good, calendula tea too.

charlyee, not to disappoint you, but I don't think hydrosol will work to keep the hair dark. The Rosemary leaves rinse would work better, but it never hurts to try :-)
