Mix 8 tablespoons neutral henna with 250 ml boiling water. Let it stay for 15 min. Than add 1 tablespoon oil (olive, jojoba or other), 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 egg. Apply carefully on your dry hair and let it at least 1 hour work, bevor you wash it out.
Adding ethernal oils to the mixture let it smell better. Covering your head with a plastic wrap and a hot wet towel should make the treatment more intensive, but i never tried that as my neighnours are allways watching - dont wanna scare them ;)
I make this treatment once a month when i see that my hair starts to get tangles and knots easily.

i was just thinking about doing something like this, especially since i have some neutral henna left, but not enough for my whole head... so i get the oil, and eggs, but wouldnt the lemon juice dry your hair?

I ve just tried this recipe (except for the eggs) and I think it did my hair well. I had never tried henna before, because Ive always liked my own colour. But with neutral henna I can finally take the benefits from the henna without actually dyeing it.
But I need some advice on using it. I still find tiny bits of henna in my hair. I co-ed afterwards but it didn't take everything out apparently.
What did I do wrong/should I do different next time?

Nobody? Or am I being impatient? ;)
I am sure lots of you must have had this experience before!

To get all the henna out of my hair I rinse really well getting as much out with water only as I can. Then I shampoo (but you could skip this step, I just really like my shampoo  ), and rinse out as much as I can with the shampoo. Then I put on a load of conditioner, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse out. After rinsing out the conditioner it seems that I always have a little bit of henna left in my hair, so I get out my wide tooth comb and comb through my hair while I've got it under the shower head. So basicly rinse and comb at the same time. This works pretty well for me, I never have any henna grit left in my hair afterwards.

This sounds interesting - does anyone have any good sources for neutral henna? Either online or in WNY.

Ursula, click on the website in my siggy. EveryDay Mehndi is wonderful and Maureen, who runs the site, is very helpful. This is where I get mine to mix with my Prabda.

I found it in a normal health food store.
