We were gone for 2 weeks to California, and had to board our dog at the vet.

Picked him up this afternoon; the poor little thing! While we were gone, he refused to come out of the kennel; growled at anyone who tried to get him. Consequently, they couldn't take him outside for potty, and just had to clean up the kennel. Was even a little skinnier because he was so depressed he wouldn't eat.

So, the first order of business was potty, food, water, BATH!!

Duncan is now sleeping on my lap.

Ahhh, poor Duncan. I'll bet he's super happy to have Mom back. Even dogs suffer from separation anxiety. I'm glad he's home and comfy now.

i've boarded my dogs for a couple of days now and then, and they always come back as if they've had a tiny nervous breakdown. the worst is the pitbull, she whines and whines and acts all manic for a few hours, then all 3 of the dogs collapse and sleep really hard for a long time.

i wish there was some way to tell them it's only temporary :(

I have a wonderful woman who comes in and pet sits for me - with the dog, 2 cats and 2 birds it is cheaper and every one is much happier when we get back then if we board them

I was going to say "and snuggle" but I see Duncan has taken care of that! :)

I'm glad you are home and Duncan seems content! Give him some extra treats and loving!

Eiy!

Always a problem. We stake out boarding situations long before we have to and make sure the dogs are familiar with the place and people. If the kennel doesn't cooperate with that screw 'em.

Sounds like your little guy would do better with a sitter...g
