View Full Version : Pics of my new forks by blondiesturn
Madeleine March 5th, 2003, 03:50 PM Oooh, I'm so excited :-) Today I received the three custom made hair forks I ordered from Eve (blondiesturn on e-bay):

The ebony two prong was made for a plain bun:

The two cocobolo three prongs were meant to hold a french twist (would you have guessed, LOL). I wanted to do a variation with one fork inserted vertically from the top and one diagonally from the side within the seam, so I needed two matching ones of different length. Eves forks work like a charm!
Great quality stuff for a reasonable price.

Thanks again Tresses for recommending Eve's work :D
Kao March 5th, 2003, 03:52 PM The two-fork style looks extremely classy and unique, especially with how well the cocobolo compliments your hair color. Very awesome. ;D

Arcticpixie March 5th, 2003, 03:58 PM Oh Madeleine those are wonderful! I adore the 3 prong matching pair.... Ooooh I just don't know what to say. The craftsmanship (or would that be craftswomanship?) is expert and the grain so beautiful. Of course they look much better in your beautiful hair than just sitting on that table!
I really like the twist too, so creative using 2 forks...
I'm suffering serious toy envy here!
Thank you for sharing !!!

Oooh, do tell, what did you get?
I'm suffering serious toy envy here!
Check out Eve's auctions - her prices are quite reasonable, and she sells outside of ebay, too.
I've never seen a 2 fork style. That is so cool. I've got to get some hair forks! icon_lol.gif I like your earrings too. are they amber?
I don't think I've seen a two fork style before either - I just figured it should work and it did :-) A single vertical fork or two sticks don't hold a twist well enough for me, and combs within the seam only tend to create loops and bumps on top of the roll if I'm not super accurate.
I was looking for a way to fix a twist on the run, so I don't have to stick to a bun if I'm in a hurry in the morning.
I was wearing the two fork twist today and didn't have to adjust it once! It held comfortably all day.
The earrings are made of vintage glass by Maiden's Treasures - they match the hairsticks in my avatar pic.
Thanks again everyone for responding :-)

BeeLady March 7th, 2003, 08:05 AM So beautiful! You and the forks. How was the shipping to you? If it was reasonable I might look into those......wow....................... The tones just show up so well, what skill.
Can't wait to get the stuff I've ordered now!! *grins* I will have to practice with my existing stuff so when I get then I will be hair perfect.

Quite reasonable - something around US$3 (without insurance - would have been $18 with insurance, so I took the risk. They arrived flawless :)).

Reminds me that I wanted to call Frau Koehler today to check how things are going, but I was so busy that I forgot. Gotta think of it on Monday ...
