Morning all..........

I am sat here typing with H'suan Wen Hua in my hair. I smell interesting.
I will be following this with my ordinary shampoo and conditioner.

On the subject of conditioner, here are the ingredients for that Chamomile Wax Conditioner for Teacherbear. Please no attacks from the ingredient police!! ;)

Aqua, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycol Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Anthemis nobilis (Chamomile Extract) Decetyldimonium Chloride, Sorbitan Palmitate, Parfum, Polysorbate 60, Benzophenone-3, Triethanolamine, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Cl 19140.

All superdrug products are not tested on animals, and their suppliers products are not either. It's the consistency of a thick thick yogurt, smells a little soapy but has another warm smell in there, one I can't describe, only that it lingers on your hair and people say to me "ooooh, your hair smells nice, what's that?" I personally have had no problems with this product but ......especially if you wash your hair upside down over the bath with a shower head on the taps........Make sure you wash it all out, it's sticky and waxy and doesn't look attractive left in!! It dries to like...gunky stuff!!! I speak from experience, I have done this!! You can leave it in between 5 and 20 minutes depending on what you want. I have left it in a little longer than that (half an hour?) and it's fine, but I think the main reason they tell you that time is that it does begin to harden after that and it's much harder to get out...so it's a practical point. I don't know how it would be under a heat cap or anything cos I don't have one of thsoe. I am guessing Sally's might be the only place to have them here and I don't get to one often enough.

I had better be about this H'suan Wen I think.........hope this is alright.

Mmmmmm....I had to keep myself from licking the remnants of my H'suan Wen Hua jar. Smells like chai tea to me. ::eyeing Bees' hair::

;) hehehe! I just LOVE that stuff. I'm currently trying to recreate the scent so I can put it in my lotions and creams and stuff.

::grinning at Steph:: What are you doing up at this time of night chickie babe?!! Little 'un giving you discomfort? (And heck......I know you crave strange things when you are pregnant but ........I think H'suan Wen is a bit extreme!!)

My hair still smells reaaaaaaaaaallllllly strong. I honk.

I'm guessing, if you talked to LUSH they would help you out (the people in the shop were soooo nice) but I'm guessing it's Bay or one of the other biggies. Most of their ingredients will prob. have a corresponding essential oil.

I smell like a kind of milk pudding, something with cloves or something infused in it......!! It is very weird!!! I have to go and serve dinners now but thanks for giving me a giggle before I start in on the drudgery. I hate my work right now.

PLUS.......omg.........Had a hair nightmare last night....it came searing back to me while I was in the shower washing my hair this morning. I dreamed that I was smoothing my ends....you know how you twist them round your finger sometimes........and ......like whole chunks started coming off, the whole ends in a big lump. Now either, this is a warning about traction alopecia or I am fretting more about my sheddage than I know. There is of course a theory that says it's the short haired dictators amongst the world ::growls:: infecting my head while I sleep. :)

I will be back with Updates later......must go and dry these roots off.

Lush sounds so nice. Is it available here in the US yet? I seem to remember a discussion that it was available in Canada but not the US. I am such a product junkie :D

I dried off my roots, went to work (twice) and have just got back. My hair feels soft - Dave says at least as soft as when I oil it - but it does feel quite dry and fly away. It's almost like I forgot to condition the ends... I don't know what to conclude about LUSH, but at the moment they are fitting my hypothesis that SLS is drying to my hair and potentially irritating to my scalp. Could also be that my hair likes light cones. I still find it weird that a company so passionate about the naturalness of their products uses such a harsh soap base - even if it is mixed with outher things that help to neutralise some of the more harmful effects (e.g Chamomile Lawn did make my hair dry, but it didn't irritate my scalp, thank goodness).

So I am as yet undecided.......to be honest. Not sure what to think. I'm going off to trim some splits now, as I notice they are getting worse again.

hehehe...noooo...I was just up playing with the board. This new board has me turning into a night owl. LOL! I keep telling myself, "Just one more thing...one more little fix..." ;) And then, of course, I get drawn into a posting frenzy when I realize that I've gone nearly all day without posting a single reply to anyone.

Anyway, I love the smell of that stuff. It is absolutely decadent. Palonia was so sweet and made up a care package for me when I was in Fresno and included some of that plus the Trichomania (Trichotillamania?) and a few others (not to mention some GORGEOUS hairsticks and homemade soaps! The woman's a genious! :D ). Anyway, I drooled over the H'suan Wen in the jar...I drooled over it when it was in my hair...and then I drooled over it when it was out of my hair and MAN, did my hair look tastey... hehehe!

As for the scent, I'm getting some definite bay rum notes (though not much) and obviously clover bud. I think I'll just have to gather all of the ingredients and make some to see if I can get it to work that way. :)

Oh, and as far as cravings go...it's currently watermelon. OMG...I am in utter heaven when I eat watermelon. ::drooling again::

::eyes jumping back and forth between the H'suan Wen and the watermelon::

Okay, I have to quit now. LOL! I'm already hungry and talking about my two current favorite yums isn't helping. ;)

I'm sorry about the nightmare. :( I've had the very same one. It's SO freaky. Definitely something you don't want to remember all at once - much less, all at once in the shower feeling vulnerable! EEEK!

Hope you had a great day...and have another one today/tomorrow/whenever you read this! ;)

Thanks Bees, for the ingredient list!!!

I'm really trying to stay away from the cones, so I guess I'll have to pass . . . for now (Until I get extra curious about the scent, then have to have it! ;) )

And, really, I wish ya'll would quit talking about LUSH . . . it all sounds SOOOOOOOOOOOOO decadent!!!!! I'm trying to use up my warehouse of potions, lotions, bubbles and scents . . . and here you go, talking about how great LUSH is! ;) <sigh>!!! You know how weak I am!! ;) hhahahahahaha

AND, you could improvise a heat cap by putting a heating pad, water bottle, or just a hot towel on your head . . . :) AND it doesn't cost what a heat cap costs (don't know the price)! :)

HUGS! :)

Thanks........

I am beginning to think that my hair likes a little bit of cones.....I don't think any of my products contain the really big heavy duty ones (thankgoodness) and whatever they do have is far down the ingredient listings anyway. If the results with Chamomile Lawn are anything to go by (and I will have to check the conditioner ingredients I used with it) then no cones makes my hair look like people don't care for it. I realise that I could create a more suitable cone-free diet if I had the commitment, but it also means I would need the money....which i don't have. As my current routine costs me relatively little, I think I'll stick with it for a while. I can't do a lot right now, and as long as I can have hair that looks well cared for, and take the best care I actually can afford, I'll stick with it. Plus my shampoo and conditioner are on offer at almost half price at the moment :)

My swap would be for some more monoi shampoo. The stuff I would be sending you is relatively cheap, just quite heavy.

Time to go and start my day :) I have to de-tangle the hair I slept in - dutch braid - and I currently look like some kind of scary thing you could back project - wispies, shaggy braid............ yeeshk.
