I am thinking it is the Dimethicone Copolyol? Because every product I use that has that, is very detangling.
I know silicones aren't good in excess but I love conditioners that detangle and oils alone just don't cut it for me.
Anyone know which icone is responsible for detangling? I know for certain it isn't the Cyclopentasiloxane silicone, that one sucks for detangling.

Everyone hair is different. My hair happens to like the cone your hair doesn't. However, after a while I have to clarify regardless of which cone I use. Different cones have different sizes. So it really depends on your hair.

BlackFoot, thank you for replying.
Makes so much sense now.

I agree with BlackFootHair. I usually stay pretty low cone but my hair really seems to like the one that your hair doesn't. My advice is to try different conditioners and find which one you like. I also use some conditioners with no cones that detangle very well.

You may have already tried this but if not, Trader Joe's makes a conditioner (can't remember the exact name -but it's the organic one and there's oly one organic conditioner of that brand so far as I know) which detangles like a miracle and it doesn't have any cones either. I could not believe the result when I tried it and my hair is close enough to yours to make it worth a try for you. Let me know of the result if you get a chance to try :)

Wow Swan, that even sounds like something I'd like. :) I was also going to say that if my hair is dry, cones don't work in my hair. So, I moisturize my hair and then cones are fine. Last time I clarified with Prell, conditioned with Mane and Tail, and then slathered on the Vatika oil, clipped it up with a clippy, and left it in all day and night. Mega moisture and shine! :)

Also, I forgot to mention (well when I wrote that message I had it on so coudldn't judge till I rinsed it out anyway) that Sea Chi makes an organic moisturizers and hair regrowth formula which is extremely helpful. The lady herself (very good customer service) said that it's not for detangling because it doesn't have waxes but i could easily finger detangle when I applied it this morning after washing with poo (I left it in for a few hourse and rinsed it out and already feel over-conditioned) But te point is that it haelped detangling (which I do every week or so mostly with fingrs and sometimes with a large widetooth plastic seemless comb). Downside is that it's expensive and after finishing up my samples I've got to think if I can/want order the normal size bottles. But it's full of all wonderful organic stuff.
