I have long thick hair that pretends to be sort of wavy/curly when it is wet, but as soon as it dries the weight makes it go straight flat. In my endless quest to try to make my hair curl (only using a styling product) I have tried many products of all different price ranges with little success.

About one year ago I saw an ad in a magazine for this John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Wave spray and the hair in the picture looked so good I had to try it. The 6 ounce bottle goes for about $6 so it was worth the gamble. The first thing I noticed when I sprayed this on my wet towel dried hair (after a shampoo and condition wash) was that the mixture was not sticky at all. I feared the worst since the only products that had sort of worked in the past left my hair rather crunchy. As my hair was drying, I twirled big pieces of hair around my finger and scrunched to encourage the curl. The end result was/is fantastic! Soft, shiny (this spray also brings out your hair color since it has tiny golden glitter-like specks), wavy, bouncy hair with minor styling time and effort. I loved the product so much I bought 3 bottles right away to always have it in stock.

I no longer fear the wash and go without hair drying in the morning before heading off to work with this product. The only tiny setback is that since this product is a spray it falls to the floor around where you use it in your hair (teeny bit slippery until it dries). On the other hand with this spray I no longer use mousse nor gel to tame my long wet hair while it air dries naturally (damage control).

Thanks for the review! I have the same kind of hair. I'm always so disappointed when the waves flatten out, yet I'm too lazy to actually deal with curling irons or rollers. I'll definitely look out for this one.
