I just sent in my resume and cover letter to apply for a job at my wife's company. She told me about the job and is actually on the interview panel, but will bow out if I make it that far.
This would be a huge change for me, since I've been managing a gym for the last two years. The new job involves a cubicle and a desk and real shoes (not sneaks!) and probably nylons, all of which seem so strange to me now.
I love my job now, but there's nowhere else to go unless I somehow buy out the current owner (which I have neither the means nor the desire to do). My starting salary at the new place would be the same as what I'm making now, but that would be entry level, with lots of room for advancement.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, everyone!
(And if I make it that far, how should I wear my hair for the interview? These things matter, you know.)
