Has anyone else noticed Caldonia Sun's signature? (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/member.php?u=8643) I've been admiring how shiny her silver hair is in it. The colour looks amazing too.

I love that we have so many silver hair idols here!! :cloud9: zule November 18th, 2006, 08:39 AM You're right, Sian. Such shine to die for! Thanks for bringing her hair to our attention. Caledonia, would you mind discussing your hair care regimen, if you have one yet? Caldonia Sun November 18th, 2006, 09:08 AM Thanks for asking. I'm a simple chick. I usually wash every other day with Goth Rosary shampoo and use a tiny, tiny bit of GR conditioner - love those fragrances :) Most conditioners are too heavy for my hair, and even with GR, I need only a drop. Sometimes, I skip the conditioner altogether and just use a few spritzes of Kimberlily's detangler, minus the jojoba oil. Every two weeks or so, I use Jhirmack Silver Brightening shampoo on the length; it burns my scalp. I seem to be allergic to just about everything, so not much goes on the scalp. I even dilute the GR shampoo. My hair tends to be shiny on its own, but adding glycerin really boosts the shine. I usually just comb, but sometimes use a vent brush and BBB. I'll sometimes blow partially dry when its cold. Wet hair in winter causes serious sinus problems for me. I get it trimmed about 1/8" every 8 weeks. With it being so straight, I like really sharp, clean edges. Other than that, nothing else, really. For my fine hair, less is more. Oils are pretty much a disaster for me, and too much of any product seems to yellow the silver. I'm still learning what works best for me. I only decided in the spring to let my hair grow longer and try to take better care of it. zule November 18th, 2006, 09:22 AM Thanks so much for taking the time to write out your hair care, Caledonia. I have GR here--three "flavors." I think it's time to use them again. The bottles are so small, and I use a lot of conditioner, that I just keep hoarding them, forgetting they're here to use. I wish she sold larger bottles of her products. trixiebelle November 18th, 2006, 10:03 AM just echoing the sentiments expressed already and that is you have such beautiful hair :) Shermie Girl November 18th, 2006, 10:57 AM I am in complete agreement. Beautiful hair with shine to die for. :flowers: RainyDZ November 18th, 2006, 12:51 PM Wow, beautiful! Not a lackluster shade of grey or mousie brown, but silver! Oh to have the genes to be such a beautiful silver!!!!! .... I hope your grey turn silver soon. Here is a helpful tutorial (http://haircrazy.info/index.php?menu_id=4&article=30)for dying your hair silver if you can't wait. GlennaGirl November 18th, 2006, 10:54 PM I love CS's signature pic. Gorgeous head of hair. I wanted to say something but I'm shy about starting "Oh you're so lovely" posts, so...I'm glad someone else started this one... CS, glycerin? Do you buy that online or get it from a health store or something to that effect? I knew glycerin was a suspension but I didn't know you could buy it all on its own. Caldonia Sun November 19th, 2006, 03:53 PM Glenna, You can buy vegetable glycerin in a health food store. It doesn't take much. Follow Kimberlily's recipe. There's also glycerin in the Goth Rosary shampoo. Thanks to all of you lovely ladies for the compliments! It's very encouraging. |
