Hi Clare, sorry but Justy bought the fork already. She is quick! Thanks for asking though :)

Hey, you never answered my question :silly: Hehe, that's okay, it's not as though I don't have plenty of hairtoys already.

Bought the little $1 tortoise plastic fork as sort of a "what the heck," as was buying the "shark" clip. When they arrived, I didn't know what to do with that long, skinny, flexible "fork" (really more a "pick?").

Then started to play with it. It makes fantastic "abstract" style twists/buns which I love to do, yet it's difficult to find toys that will work with lots of different twisting and wrapping. This one is perfect!

Thanks so much, Cinnamon, for making this available!

It's now one of my absolute favorite hair toys! And to think, it was only a buck and I almost shrugged it off. Here's a pic of it in action today. I've got a HairSpray set in, which you can do with this hair toy (also the earrings I made to go with the sticks!).

So nice to hear that Peggy! I like the decoration you added to it, very feminine. It's weird how some things work for one person and not another. I couldn't manage to do a thing with that fork/pin. Glad you were able to make use of it :)

Boo Hoo!!! Oh, woe is me - My skinny pick/fork/thingie purchased from you, the one I loved so much and could do all kinds of really neat abstract kind-a knots, broke! :o( WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

I tried gluing it back together and then wound cloth around it, glued it and varnished it to make it as stiff as possible, hoping against hope this would make the stick once more the precious, wonderful hair-thingie I'd found it to be.

But, alas and alac, 'twas not to be. So, Cinnamon, do you happen to remember where you purchased this hair toy? I would LOVE to have another one like it!

It's been a bad, bad week....finally got my blue jean large maxi ficcare and can't get it to work; broke my favorite hair-thingie, my one dog's ear infection is bad, it's dark and raining, and all is definitely NOT right with the world.

Oh, poor me. Poor, poor me. ;o(

Peggy, I'm fairly sure they're made by Scunci, and I've seen them in a lot of drugstores and places like Wal Mart. I think they're called something like Bobbie Stix, or a similar name. I used to have one a long time ago, but I think I swapped it at some point. If you want I can keep my eyes open for some around here and pick them up to send to you, but I'm sure you'll easily be able to find them near you.

Thanks, Glebe. I'll see if I can scare one up on line, or see if I can get someone here to check the local Wal-Mart.

Peggy, sorry to hear that the fork broke so quickly! That's what I hate about plastic toys; they just don't compare to wood. Anyway, I bought it at either Walgreen's or CVS. Probably Walgreen's as that is the one I visit most. I'll keep my eyes open for another one.

I saw a Bobby Stix in the grocery store just last night. I had Ron Quattro make me one out of metal, with the same dimensions, because I liked how it worked. Plastic ones are easy to come by.

Maybe where YOU live! Sent my sister (here from Ukraine, where her husband is part of the Chernobyl "clean up" team) out with my dad (he won't let her drive his car!) searching the area yesterday. I'm housebound, but had given her the "remains" of the wonderful stick so she'd know what she was searching for.

They went to Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target, the two local grocery stores and we're out of stores! And no stick anywhere - Not even close! :o(

Nuts, oh poo!

eta: Also searched down the stick under Scunci on line and didn't find it. I have "won" a 6" pair of Quattro Starlites, which appear to be close to the Dearly Departed Stick. The thing is, they won't have that wonderful "bend and play" of the DDS (Dearly Departed Stick), probably why it became the DDS, all that "bending and playing" going on....
