View Full Version : Seeking hair advice for a preggy (not me!) Axium February 26th, 2003, 05:04 PM She's 5 1/2 months, and her hair feels like straw. No amount of conditioner will help, she says. Any advice? Accolady February 26th, 2003, 05:10 PM . Sounds to me like she's got some seriously thirsty hair! It may be that she is using harsh, almost detergent-like shampoos, and then trying to correct the problem using heavy conditioners, when she should be using something mild and moisturizing. Do you know what hair type she has and maybe find out what type of shampoo and conditioner she is using? Karen Marie Stephanie February 26th, 2003, 05:35 PM Being preggy, myself, I found that Mastey Traite is a super gentle shampoo...Mastey Frehair is a WONDERFUL conditioner/detangler...and the Kiehl's deep treatments (take your pick of three) moisturize and repair like nothing else I've ever tried. If her hair is really dry and/or damaged, I'd recommend a Kiehl's deep treatment following a clarifying wash. There is TONS of moisture in there and my hair has never felt better. Ever. Check out my first journal entry for some more info (well...raves LOL). ;) HTHS! Axium February 27th, 2003, 09:52 AM I made a trip to Sally's today and bought her Mega Moisture and a slinky material scrunchi. She's off to bathe now. If that stuff works on her hair, it is indeed a miraculous product. Ahem - as long as I was there, I got myself a tub also, plus a slinky headband, hair vitamins, was delighted to find my husband's long-lost Hask leave-in dandruff control for him. Then next door at Fred Meyers I found new scrunchi accessory - a bobby stick - it is not a bobby pin - it's more like a hair fork, just a single, skinny, u-shaped pin about 5" long, tapers together at the ends. It's a wonderful, simple design I used the second I was out of the store. Tortoise-color plastic, couple of bucks. Plus more Aussie Moist and some Aussie Slip. My hair should be about as moist as mud! |
