I met my goal of finding 100 styles for my style index...some of them are from people here. In fact, there are now more than a hundred and I realized as I went along that there are a truely astonishing number of things one can do with long hair...I will not be typing all of them into the index! :) I also tidied up the format to make it easier to read.

In other news, my hair is still rather oily. Ach. The CO was great for the scalp part, but the length still needs some help. I decided to give it at least two days rest from washing and then deal with the rest. On the positive side, since oily hair holds together well, I was able to do a really good french twist this morning. :rolleyes: :D

Yep, yep. I can do a good french twist when my hair is sopping wet too. But it'll never dry that way.

Long hair is extremely versatile. It's easy to become stuck in a bun rut, which I was, and I am trying to do more styles. Not necessarily more difficult styles, but *something* different. In fact, most of what I come up with is quicker, easier, and looks better than a plain braided bun. :shrug:

Though I have to admit, pictures would be invaluble....I find that, unless I'm already familiar with the style, I have a hard time picturing it....

my hair works best when when wet too. for the 4th of july i wore a french twist. it stay for 3 days! i was afraid to take it down thinking maybe i but glue instead of leave in conditioner! LOL!

Three days! :shock: That reminds me of those Geisha 'dos, you have to sleep on special pillows (if it is even a pillow) to keep the style intact.
I can sleep with a french twist too (taking a nap that is), but I've never worn one for more than maybe ten hours at a time. I'm impressed!

honestly i don't know why it stayed so good. i wish i knew so when i do it again it will stay that good. i would wake up and look and it still was good :shock: i had to just fix little ends that were coming out a little. i used abba's leave in conditioner. it's not great like if you wear a ponytail or loose. it's thick almost like regular conditioner. for updo it works good.

Me too, Rennie. Now Elspeth, if you could put together a book with how to instructions, you would make TONS of money! I would buy one!! I too, get stuck in the same rut. It would be neat to try my hand at over a 100 different hairstyles.

Anyone is welcome to borrow/print anything from the index - just remember that most of the the styles have other or unknown sources, as I mentioned at the top of the index, so it is definitely a personal use sort of thing. That is why it could never be a book. (I sometimes wish there were a book with the contents of the Dreamweaver site or a condensation of the wisdom of this site!)

I wish I could do pictures! Anyone who has pictures of the trickier styles which we could put into the journal is more than welcome to help me figure out how to do it. That would be lovely.

Teacherbear, the only place the index is posted online is in my journal titled "While I Wait". It starts after the posts about history and routine.
