My daughter uses this recipe in her hair, too. She also adds 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the mix. She loves it and it makes her hair so soft and shiney. She's dark blond with tailbone length hair.

I never rinsed the honey stuff out , I put one spoon to about one litter of worm water. I had no problem with it. :silly:

What is this rinse supposed to do? How long should I leave it on for?

It is supposed to make hair shine. I always rinse it out with cool water right away.

Thanks AP. I am beginning to really like honey as a hair aid. I will try this.

Umm, Violeta, about that "worm" water, doesn't it smell funny? --tee hee hee :D :P :D

(I'm just glad I'm not the only one who makes interesting typos!)

Seriously, really enjoying this thread, learning a lot!

If you don't rinse it out, does it get...tangly?

I once did not rinse out my honey rinse and my hair felt like cotton candy. Or like I had used a ton of hair spray. Makes sense since you can substitute hair spray with sugar water. Maybe my rinse was too strong for me to leave in (I don't remember how much honey I used but I'm pretty sure it wasn't more than a tea spoon on one litre of water), but I've rinsed out any honey mixes ever since.

Just tried this Thursday, it worked great! I didn't rinse it out and my hair loved it. However, it is a little sticky today, I should wash it again. :D

I use this every once in awhile too. I don't rinse it out though. I only use 1 teaspoon of honey with about 500 mls of water and I have never had a problem with stickiness.

I just tried this and it's so far made my hair feel lovely but it is still wet so i'll have to see how it is when it has dried.

I make the same rinse with 1 teaspoon honey + 1 glass of lukewarm water. But I don't rinse it out. It provides great hold and volume for my baby fine hair. The ends get somewhat crunchy and dry, but I apply some coconut oil to make them soft and moisturised. If I use more honey than usual, it does feel like hairspray, but it doesn't damage hair. This rinse is a great root-lifter!

When my hair is almost dry I put it in a bun, and the waves I get from the bun last longer this way. I was thinking to make my own hairspray with honey and water, maybe add essential oils, and see how that works. Should work in theory.

PS. Honey is *amazing* as a face mask. It’s a miracle for my combination skin. It really works and it's 100% natural. I love honey! :)

Oh, I think I'm ready to try honey in my hair; can't more natural than that.

Can anyone suggest where I would "fit" the honey rinse in my CO routine?
I CO first with a watery conditioner, rinse thoroughly (ok, more than thoroughly) and then apply a richer conditioner while I wash my body and then rinse the richer cnditioner.

Shoud I do the honey rinse after the second condition? Thank you.
