Hi! I would love to know what hair routines & specific products are used by others who have my hair type (3a/3b, F/M, ii/iii).

I've been trying the CO wash with Giovanni Silk as Smooth conditioner, and though my hair feels softer and is shinier at the top, the length and ends are dry, frizzy and lifeless.

So, could you share with me what works for you? I long for healthy, shiny, defined curls. I would like to use natural products as much as possible.

Thanks!

Hi curlyhead! Welcome to LHC.

I'm a new member myself, so I wouldn't say I've got the answers, but I can tell you some of my routine/what works for me. Keep in mind that I've been experimenting quite a bit the last few months, so this is all subject to change. That, and enjoy your own journey of experimentation!

--CO washing for the most part, diluted 'poo (CWC) on scalp only maybe every 2-3 weeks.
--Deep Treatments about once a week, sometimes 2x if I have time.
--Protein Treatments are good for my hair, I'm stretching them out now to every other week to once a month.
--Love SMT! *thanks, Snowy* see sticky at the top of recipe board
--as a very curly head myself, I love pure aloe vera juice (or try gel, I didn't like it). I get mine from the natural food store, and use it in my mister full strength & diluted.
--I'm experimenting with leave-ins. This helps with the dry length issue for me. Really like Fox's Shea Conditioning Cream (sticky top of recipe board also), trying lots of others as well.
--Prewash oiling with coconut oil, alone or mixed is a good thing.
--My hair gets dried out when it gets tangled, have no idea why. I try to keep it up & out of the way these days "when not in use". Ha. Meaning at night, working out, on super windy or rainy days...
--Do searches here for others with your hair type, and check out what they do. I love that there's no plagiarism clause here--steal ideas to your heart's content, if they work for you.

In general, just being gentle & kind to your hair goes a long way.

Hope you find what works for you, and by all means!!! Share when you do.:flower:
