I do find it interesting that most entries for straight and healthy categories are about product ville and coloring. Nothing unusual about that, but it's an interesting thing to notice.

Ack, I feel your frustration. I've no idea why, but many people are very intolerant of wavy hair--to them, it's either got to be curly or straight! It's a shame, wavy hair is so pretty.

Its a contest for beautiful hair, Why does the person have to show their hair from the front instead of the back like most of the LHC siggy pictures. what if there is a woman who has gorgeous hair that should be #1 but happens to be an average looking woman. Then there is a woman who has a gorgeous face and not such beautiful hair, will that influence the judges? Not to mention a picture from the back give a better view of the contestants hair. And please dont take my comment the wrong way, all women are beautiful, but the media has made a certain ideal image of beauty and most people dont fit that image.

I went to the "big hair" section hoping for some rockin' afros... I was so disappointed! No afros at all! And MY hair is bigger than some of the hair in those pictures.

lh1299~I agree...if the contest is really about beautiful sexy hair then why do you have to show your face? If you're ugly you probably wouldn't be one of the "chosen" few....but if you had beautiful hair then you should be regardless of looks.

Also, some of them are wearing "sexy" clothes too- surely another factor which would take the attention away from it being purely about sexy hair?

His hair is really short now. Had a rock climbing accident a few years ago and had to have his friend chop his hair off to free him. Now he's a daddy and works in a bank!!!!

yea, it was scary (I heard about it after the fact). I'm so glad he never went rock climbing again!!!

Anyway, I never know when he might decide to grow his hair again. Right now he's Mr. Banker, so it's short for awhile. He's actually the one who encouraged me to grow my hair out. We were riding along about 10 years ago, and I saw a guy walking along the side of the road with a waist length braid. I said "I sure wish I had a braid like that" and my sweet son said "You COULD have a braid like that if you stopped cutting your hair!". So I stopped cutting my hair and now I have at least a waistlength braid!!!!!!!

And I dont blame you, I would have been very upset if i found out my son's hair had been caught in a rock climbing accident and had to cut to free him. Oooo!! I think I am gonna enter under "curly." I took a look at those pix and LHC pix are WAYYYY better. To answer the question "why do you think you have sexy hair," I am going to answer: "I never use heat styling and use mostly all-natural products!" Let's see how they like THAT!

A year's worth of their hair products? hmmm. I used their curly sexy hair shampoo and conditioner for a year. I liked it better than anything else commercial I had used because it was not as drying and my curls came out less frizzy. The conditioner was really good for me. When my hair was shedding really badly my doctor wanted to read the ingredients and he made a face and said "amonia is very bad for your hair!!" LOL! Now that LHC has enlightened me, I no longer touch that bottle of shampoo (I finished the conditioner before coming to lHC).

I wonder how you look has a lot of impact on the decision... I mean, I'm kinda worried if they would chose the sexy looking person with average hair over the best hair with an unattractive face. That would be really unfair. :(

For those spikes- Rave Megahold #4 and egg whites. I glopped on the egg whites first (one spike at a time)- on dry hair just enough to get the hair wet and have it hold the shape. Then twistie tie the end to keep it together, spray a good amount of Rave Megahold #4, then dry with blow dryer. Repeat until all are done. Remove twisties when completely dry. It's definitely not good for the hair, but it was fun for him to do as a one time thing for Halloween. Maybe you could try just the eggwhites and airdrying or something. Let me know how you make out if you decide to do it.

I must be crazy, but I did it! My husband took some photos of me, which I had to crop so I wasn't so Lady Godiva, but I entered. I have Big Sexy Hair. Gray hair can be very sexy, you know.... My husband told me so!

holy cow, I wasn't too impressed with many of the entries already submitted, but then again, I think I am so very impressed with the wonderful hair photos shown here, that the examples there aren't that great by comparison. I think the folks here know how to take pictures to show off the beautiy of the hair itself, without focusing on the smile, or the pout (trying to look sexy), or the poor use of a digital camera on one's self.....

I think the folks here have amazing hair, and it would be worthwhile to enter and sweep the awards :grin:
