Hello all,

I've noticed many of you are experiencing difficulty using
the new boards, so I just wanted to remind you all that
there are many options available to make everything easy.

Here are a few options and links which may assist:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/search.php?search_id=newposts
VIEW POSTS SINCE YOUR LAST VISIT
(ah, this is the one!)

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/search.php?search_id=egosearch
VIEW YOUR POSTS
(see if you have any responses, but an email is
sent to you when there are any)

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/search.php?search_id=unanswered
VIEW UNANSWERED POSTS
(making it easy to reply to those which are not replied to)

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/search.php?search_id=unanswered
EVERYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO KNOW
(this should answer just about any question you may have)

I'll try to help if someone has any other questions,
but the FAQ is full of good stuff, and the other links
are at the top right of the boards.

:D

Can I post Images?
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML.

How do I add a signature to my post?
To add a signature to a post you must first create one, this is done via your profile. Once created you can check the Add Signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio box in your profile (you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box on the posting form)

One soulution to uploading pictures is to create a web page. There are millions of sites which offer free web hosting. The following links show some of the sites which offer this service.

Just make sure that the host allows off-site linking of pictures. Neither anglefire or geocities do, and it seems more and more hosts adopt that policy.

Ah, but you can always link to the page. I don't mind making everyone look throuth my page to see my pictures. ::evil laugh::

Accolady, how did you get your avatar to work? everytime I tried putting an avatar it kept saying that it had to be less than 6kb but even the smallest thumnail pics I have are all 20+ -- images that are about the same size as yours...how can I get this to work?

Hello,

The picture size with regard to inches may be the right size,
but the pixels add to the size of the file. I can fix this for you
without it looking too grainy, I think.

If you have the picture in link form, paste it here for me
and I will adjust it to the appropriate size for you. If you
do not have a link, you can email me the pic, then I will
resize it for you and post it on the boards.
