Today has been fabulous! Taking it easy, doing a little laundry (so close to being finished I just can't wait on that!) and just resting. Dave is cooking me Lasagne tonight (he's worried; I am always the lasagne maker in our house) and a cake and homemade ice cream (mint choc chip) and..... I may just sit around the rest of the day.

Gabs, you are just getting me in a fighting mood, Hon! We just watered our pasture (flood irrigation here) and so I have several mud puddles that I plan to try out and see how I do in the slimy slippery stuff. The soil here is clay-ey and gets really soft when it's soaking wet. You can try to dig a hole and not penetrate the top layer when it's dry, then run a hose on it for a little while and come back with your shovel and sink it in up to it's eyebrows with no trouble at all. It's perfect for mud-rassling, even though I have no first-hand knowledge of such things. I think we should definitely get together and make rassling commercials to promote the Big Event. We could say "We're here to pump....(hand clap).....you up!"

Sajjie, just white on white cake. WIth the really lardy frosting (hate that whipped cream frosting; give me a bucket of Crisco and I'm happy :rolleyes: ) Dave will pick that up on his way home from work today (he scheduled himself off at 3 so he can come home and cook that lasagne for me. He's also bringing home a loaf of the "texas toast" bread - the really thick-sliced square bread loaves - and gonna make it garlic bread for me. And Italian Green Beans and.....I need to make iced mint tea. I have chocolate mint growing in my garden and I'd like to have chocolate mint tea with it. Mmmmmm.........

I got a book at the library, "best flavors of homemade ice cream" or some such rot. I swear to you that there are recipes in there for Avacado Ice Cream and weird/funky stuff like that. What would possess a person to think "Avocado would be good in ice cream"? Ick. And there were others that were at least as bad. Gag. Dulce La Leche sounded good. I may copy that recipe and try it some time...
